On climate change, we often assume people are either believers or deniers.
I don't like either label, because climate change is not a religion.
Instead, I prefer the 6 categories identified by @YaleClimateComm for the US. https://t.co/mxGR45pA65
President Valerie Smith announced that Tomoko Sakomura, interim vice president for student affairs and professor of art history, will serve as the next provost and dean of the faculty of Swarthmore College. Congratulations!

A handful of Northeast climate sites recorded their driest and/or least snowy first half of February. Meanwhile, temperatures at multiple climate sites were at least 4°F warmer than normal: https://t.co/rqW0xfTdtf
@kkthomason If you wrote it as AmeriCan it could be even better! (Random inTernal capitaliZation is a time-honored trick for tortured astronomy acronyms.)
In this episode of @KYWNewsradio@InDepthPod we take a look at changes scientists are monitoring within the Earth's core. What is happening and what does it mean? Our guest is @elnjensen of @swarthmore. Give a listen - https://t.co/vCs4rYvUPg
I did some fun reporting last week in the Bay Area, checking out companies making meat and dairy products without animals. I ate some of the future of food. Here’s a thread with some of the cool stuff I got to try! 1
Tiny urban forests can help #rewild urban settings and help fight #climatechange. The brainchild of the Japanese botanist Miyawaki is taking his idea global.
We have so many solutions. Let's stop the delays and implement them. #ActOnClimate#climate#forests#nature
@explain_paper Looks interesting, but would love to see some kind of privacy policy / explanation on your site about what you do (or don't do) with login and query data. Thanks!

@StartsWithABang@KarenLMasters When there’s too much to do (which is almost always it seems) I sometimes tell myself “you can only do one thing next” and try to pick that thing…
@KarenLMasters@StartsWithABang Agreed - I always feel like two weeks is an important milestone in the semester. Drop-add is over, I’m starting to get to know the students, and we’re off and running. Yay us indeed!
@bobabenjamin Thanks for sharing this, Bob - I'm really sorry to hear it. I took ISM from Blair in graduate school, and learned a lot. He will be missed.
Blair Savage, professor emeritus of the University of Wisconsin, died of cancer last night (July 18), preceded in death by his wife Linda just a few months ago. I will share more later, but he was a huge influence on my life and a source of support and encouragement. RIP Blair.
Please @SenToomey, be one of the 10 Republicans we need to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act. You are retiring, you have nothing to lose! Women are losing their lives, and their loved ones are losing them. This affects EVERYONE. Please be a hero!
It was great fun talking today on @whyyradiotimes with @allison_strom and @MartyMossCoane about the new images from #JWST and what might be coming in the future.
.@elnjensen: "We'll learn more about planets around other stars. We know of more than 5,000 of them...now we will be able to look at the atmospheres of those planets...we have no idea what that's going to look like but it will be fun." #JWST 🪐 https://t.co/fVnWixzqun
