You read or hear "Istanbul is a cat city" so much that you think of it as a horrible tourist cliche but the reality is that that almost undersells the extent to which cats are the protagonists here. People stop in the middle of the street to take pictures. People show you pictures of cats they saw on the walk over to you - people who have lived here their entire lives.

Look at this guy. Look at him. Utterly unconcerned about the fact that he's lying down in plants. Is he comfortable? Almost certainly not. But he is secure in his dominion over the city.

And the swim teacher is Johnny! Johnny instantly recognizes Simon, he's the reason Johnny's switched to swimming from football. Remembers watching young Simon at Olympics.
