Elocast

DEPRECATED. censorship free platform. Let Elocast be your next stop on the road to your newest adventure.

[Elocast @ElocastTV]

The decision to close Elocast is not one we take lightly, and we want to be transparent about the reasons behind it:

1. Low Engagement: It's no secret that our community has seen a decline in activity over time. We appreciate your contributions and support, but we feel it's time to acknowledge this reality.
2. Financial Difficulties: Running an online platform, especially a video-oriented one that requires processing and storing terabytes of data, comes with costs. We've encountered financial challenges that make it unsustainable to continue operations. The GPU shortage and the recent increase in energy prices have substantially affected us in this matter as well.
3. Lack of Resources: Maintaining an online platform is difficult enough, but maintaining a video platform built entirely with in-house or open-source technology is another level of difficulty. It requires a full team of hands-on engineers and a marketing team, which unfortunately we don't have.

What you need to know:

• Closure Date: 30th of September 2023 - On this date, Elocast will officially close its doors.
• Data Retrieval: If you have any content or data on Elocast that you'd like to save, you'll have a 15-day window to download your data before we close.
• It's not the end: Although the platform is shutting down, the codebase will be maintained as much as possible and published under an Open Source license. Parts of the system are already available on GitHub, and more will be made accessible.

We want to take a moment to express our gratitude for your continued support and participation in Elocast. Your presence has been invaluable, and we've cherished the moments we've shared.

If you have any questions or need assistance during this transition, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. We're here to help make this transition as smooth as possible.

While this decision may not come as a surprise to some, we appreciate your understanding and support as we move forward.

Warm regards,

Patryk @__cski,

Speaker detection, issue.

I noticed an issue, where if a sentence was too short, it would assign it to the default speaker. That being always SPEAKER_0.

FIXED!

So this is fun, WeTransfer admits to stealing your data and selling it to AI companies.

Use @roceetcom, they won’t do you dirty like that.

[Matt Lieb?? @mattlieb]

WeTransfer terms and services now including owning everything we transfer lol.

[roceet @roceetcom]

WeTransfer admits to stealing your data!

This is absolutely disgraceful. Your data belongs to you!

Switch to Roceet instead. Lower price, more trustworthy.

[PATRYK @__cski]

The entire world is on fire, but Roceet stands still unbothered. Classic.

[PATRYK @__cski]

I just got fired.

Not because of performance, not because of some HR dispute. I was a top earning engineer and the CTO didn't like that.

If anybody is hiring a Software Engineer, please keep me in mind!

[roceet @roceetcom]

share smarter, not harder - Roceet

[roceet @roceetcom]

Roceet is ready. Built with care, tested with patience, and now it's yours to use. Try it out, share your thoughts, and let’s make file sharing better - together.
