I am so proud of our URP students. They showed at the Texas chapter of American Planning Association that @utsa and @utsa_ceid students are well prepared to tackle the urban challenges of today and the future.
Now seems like a good time to mention that, thanks largely to @LuskinCenter faculty affiliate @CJGabbe's contributions, the 2023 American Housing Survey will contain a module on Heat Risk (and "Cooling Problems") for the 1st time

Although these two sites are part of a larger study that evaluates the cool pavement coatings installed by the city, these two specific pictures are of the control areas that have no cool pavement.
Two very different #ExtremeHeat realities in #SanAntonioTX, same time, only one day apart, but the lower-income and less green invested area shows 10F degrees more in air temperature than the greener area.
