Oh, good. I have left myself a note that just says, "Bats." It's underlined.

[ASGCT @ASGCTherapy]

Science revolves around telling stories, says @ELPfister, but how can scientists communicate in a compelling way?

You know what's annoying? When you leave a placeholder for a reference and then can't remember where it is. #writer #writing #scicomm

[Edith Pfister, PhD @ELPfister]

And sometimes, you just decide to delete the last paragraph and end it there. #toomanythreads #scicomm

@UMassChan_BMB Change of scenery

[Edith Pfister, PhD @ELPfister]

95% done with what I'm writing and suddenly, I'm stalled. What is it with that last 5%? #writing #scicomm

[Edith Pfister, PhD @ELPfister]

One theme that emerged from the communication sessions at #ASGCT23 was authenticity. Talking to patients requires humility and vulnerability. They are the experts on their own diseases. My job is usually to make #genetherapy less scary or intimidating. #sciencecommunication

What triggers anorexia nervosa? We find that chronic stress can trigger willful seeking of a starvation-like state in mice. As in humans, this was enriched in female mice, particularly those predisposed to stress.

Why did I go to #ASGCT2023 this year, even as I've left the field to do #sciencecommunication? Because this is still my home. The place that took me in and made me feel accepted. And because I still care about bringing transformative therapies to patients.

Weather report. Cool in the morning, hot in the afternoon. #asgct2023 #LosAngeles
