When an IDF soldier desacrated a cross, it opened an investigation and the prime minister of Israel himself publicly apologized
When Hezbollah thugs desacrated a church today and beat up the priest, Hezbollah apologists online jumped to say it didn't happen but we also deserved it regardless
What happened last night - random shelling carried out by Hezbollah in Beirut and its suburbs, is not a “celebration,” but a dangerous act of intimidation against civilians.
For over an hour, people lived in fear, reliving the nightmares of war. B7 shells and gunfire claimed the lives of innocent civilians. This irresponsible behavior once again proves that the presence of weapons outside the authority of the state poses a direct threat to the safety of the Lebanese people.
This is precisely what reaffirms, now more than ever, the validity of our position as MPs when we met yesterday to demand that Beirut be a weapons-free city.
People wondering why Hezbollah supporters fired celebratory shots into the air after the ceasefire announcement—despite the heavy losses they suffered—are missing the point. This is not a show of force against Israel; it is a show of force against other Lebanese communities.
I grew up in Ain El Remmaneh, and the bullets would always fall into my neighborhood whenever Nasrallah’s supporters celebrated his speeches. The message is familiar: we are still in control.
This is their language. Once you understand Lebanese politics for what it is—a never-ending sectarian conflict—much becomes clearer about why people act the way they do.

@IranEmbassyLB I’m glad I wasn’t born into a system that treats women like they’re less. My heart goes out to every woman in Iran fighting for her freedom.
@ikerista armed groups don’t just affect external conflicts they influence internal decisions, politics and the future of the country. At least now, the government is trying to engage, to negotiate, to find a way out. What’s the alternative? Do nothing? Stay stuck in the same cycle?
I’m genuinely trying to understand the position of Hezbollah supporters.
On one hand, they oppose any peace agreement with Israel and call it betrayal. They say negotiations shouldn’t happen at the table, but “on the battlefield.”

@ikerista decisions of war and peace shouldn’t be outside the authority of the state.
This is something Lebanon should have addressed a long time ago, not because of external pressure, but for itself.
No solution is risk-free but doing nothing has already brought us here.
