(Battambang): On Wednesday (Dec. 24), students fled in panic after Thai invading forces deployed fighter jets to drop four bombs near Phnom Sampov in Banan district, Battambang province, an area located approximately 100 kilometers from the border.

At 10:00 am (December 24, 2025), the Thai military used T-50 fighter jets to drop four bombs into a civilian residential area deep into Cambodian sovereign territory in Banan district, Battambang province, along the route to Pailin Province, before continuing toward Chanthaburi Province. The T-50 is an aircraft manufactured in South Korea. So far, the Thai military has used three types of aircraft—made in the United States, Sweden, and South Korea—to carry out attacks on Cambodia.”

On the afternoon of September 17, 2025, Thai soldiers armed with shields, batons, and weapons continued their incursions into Cambodia by firing tear gas, rubber bullets, and using sound-disrupting devices that damaged hearing, targeting Cambodian civilians in Prey Chan village, O’ Bei Choan commune, Ou Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province. These actions caused injuries to several civilians, including Buddhist monks. On August 25, 2025, at 2:30PM, more than 50 Thai soldiers used barbed wire to assault Cambodian civilians’ homes and sugarcane plantations. The ceasefire had been established on July 28 at midnight, but the Thai soldiers did not respect it. Eighteen Cambodian soldiers have not yet been released, and 28 days have already passed. Every day, they continue to destroy the homes of innocent civilians on Cambodian soil, using barbed wire and car tires, solely to provoke anger and force us to respond with weapons .

It’s ridiculous! Thailand continues filming scene two, including photos and videos of landmine planting to frame and accuse Cambodia.

After organizing the first staged video to accuse and frame the Cambodian soldiers for laying mines—which did not succeed—Thailand has now attempted to film a second staged scene, including both photos and videos of alleged mine-laying. According to experts, the videos and photos released by the Thai Army through Thai media are purely staged, crafted so that they could present images to accuse the Cambodian soldiers, just as they have done in the past, in order to claim that Cambodia was laying new mines and to justify their own provocative military actions.

Experts have pointed out that if mines were actually being laid secretly, there would be no one recording videos as evidence. Secret mine-laying would not be carried out in such a coordinated manner; it would certainly involve extreme caution and speed. Overall, both the videos and photos that Thailand claims show the Cambodian military laying mines are staged scenes created to generate images for accusations against Cambodia. Thai nationals who are ethnically Khmer Surin can speak the Khmer language fluently. Cambodian military uniforms, insignia, and other equipment are easily obtainable on the thai market.

Experts note that Thailand is highly skilled at staging such scenes: after releasing the first video, some may not believe it, so they staged a mine-laying scene again for media circulation—but public opinion still remains skeptical.

A seven-nation Interim Observer Team (IOT), led by Malaysian Defence Attaché to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and joined by other residents and non-resident Defence Attaché to the Kingdom of Cambodia conducted an observation visit to Prey Chan Village, O’ Bei Choan Commune, Srok O’ Chrov District, Banteay Meanchey Province. The visit was conducted following the reports of illegal barbed wire installation by the Thai armed forces on August 12–13, 2025. These developments occurred subsequent to the ceasefire agreement and the release of the joint statement during the Extraordinary Cambodia –Thailand General Boundary Committee Meeting (GBC Meeting) held on 7 August 2025, in Malaysia.
