On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I invite trans people to remember how brave we are, how beautiful, how miraculous.
And I invite everyone else to remember that you, too, can be as courageous and free as we are.
It was so great to hear Emily’s @comebacksnacks story in person at the Beyond the Charge symposium yesterday.
And her popcorn is so yummy!! (guessing this isn’t meant to be a single serving package, but it sure was at my house)

This man is such an unbelievable moron. Like... this answer is filled with so much nonsense, stupidity, and hubris that a I'd be mad if one of my 1st yr students gave it. HOW is it possible he could be president again
Q: Do you think it's possible to eliminate federal taxes?
TRUMP: There is a way. You know, in the old days, when we were a smart country, in the 1890s -- this is when the country was relatively the richest it ever was. It had all tariffs. It didn't have an income tax.

Live before the eyes of the world:
Israel wipes out the entire village of Mhaibib in South Lebanon, home to the 2,000-year-old shrine of Prophet Benjamin.
History reduced to rubble.
Centuries of heritage gone.
While the “international community” just watches in silence.
Absolutely appalling. Where is Canada on calling out the shameful violence against children in Gaza who represent nearly half of the population? This is a clear violation of international law.
"It has all the hallmarks of another Ontario-made fiasco in the making. The only question that matters now is what it will cost to eventually undo this mess." — @jm_mcgrath#onpoli https://t.co/b4BqVjux3J
@DanFriedman81 @charlcorday @samswey He for sure did! He was not compliant with that arrest. But we can agree he was also fully restrained when he was killed, and obviously that this wasn't a 'legal' or institutionally justified killing, right?
@DanFriedman81 @charlcorday @samswey But then I think we're talking about 2 different things here. If lack of disciplinary action is relevant to this discussion, then we're talking about whether a killing is institutionally justified. But Samuel didn't argue these 1/3 stranger killings weren't legal/justified.
@charlcorday @DanFriedman81@samswey I hear you. But then several of the more famous police killings occurred when the person killed was already cuffed or otherwise restrained.
@DanFriedman81 @charlcorday @samswey But if you're making the claim that the vast majority of people who're killed by police are killed in the midst of actively resisting an arrest, then what are you basing that on, if not some evidence? (i.e. we weren't there to see all these killing, obviously)
@charlcorday @DanFriedman81@samswey But if that was the case, then we'd see a pattern of higher rates of previous arrest/convictions than average in people who are later killed by police, no? I can't think I've come across any such data, but I'll have a quick search now.
@DanFriedman81 @charlcorday @samswey Huh, I've never seen any data on that - can you point me to any? The only research I know of that find patterns amongst ppl killed by police in the US is around gender and race, not on behaviour on arrest.
