Today’s global theme is ��Our Power, Our Planet” – and we couldn’t be prouder to see young people like Rafael representing us at Leeds City Council’s Earth Day event at Pudsey Leisure Centre.

Rafael spoke passionately about how CATCH is putting sustainability into action – from our Educational Farm where young people learn about the environment and animal welfare, to the solar energy system we installed earlier this year. The results? Truly powerful. On sunny days, our building runs entirely off solar power, with our battery fully charged and extra energy going back to the grid.

That means more savings to reinvest in youth activities, more opportunities to educate others, and a cleaner, greener future powered by young people who care.

Big thanks to Leeds City Council for bringing together inspiring organisations and showcasing real solutions. Our planet needs us – and together, we’ve got the power to make a difference.

I visited HW Martin to see how we process recycling waste in Leeds. It's amazing how they split the different waste streams but equally shocking how many items with batteries are still put in, especially vapes! This is just from part of a shift and is a fire risk!

There’s a new Sculpture Trail in #RoundhayPark 👀

Follow the trail to discover eight carved beech trees crafted by local artist, Shane Green. Inspired by the wildlife in Roundhay Park, the chainsaw carved sculptures depict herons, fish, swans, butterflies and more.
