As protests or elections approach, politicians in helicopters deceive boda boda riders and mama mbogas - hardworking Kenyans surviving on the margins - by portraying the tax-paying middle class who fuel the economy and create jobs, as the real enemy.
The “hustler vs. dynasty” narrative wasn’t aimed at the entrenched families plundering Kenya since independence like the Kenyatta’s, Moi’s, Biwott’s, Ndegwa’s; it was a calculated ploy to pit economic classes against each other for electoral gain.
