Again at this time major tours don’t make money on ticket sales or even merch anymore especially for pop artists like Ariana Grande and Post Malone where their core audience are broke Zoomers and Millennials with no disposable income.

The cost of production (stage design, lighting rigs), travel (private jets for top-tier acts), security (for those with serious threats), and crew (hundreds of people) can run into tens of millions per tour.

Think About This For A Second

A label or management company will front an artist $10-50 million for a global tour knowing full well it will lose money on its face.

Why?

Because that advance comes from an offshore account tied to a sovereign wealth fund or intelligence agency slush fund that needs to launder hundreds of millions in dirty cash every year.
