"They strengthen them.

Addressing the @UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, @AmbMKimani, chair of the UN Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, demanded stronger recognition of systemic racism and ambitious action on reparatory justice and equality.

This #InternationalWomensDay, we demand more than celebration — we demand action. ✊💜
Being born a woman should not be a barrier. Yet, from legal discrimination ⚖️ to economic inequality 💰, millions of women and girls face systemic exclusion every day.
It’s time to demand change — now. #HerRightsOurFuture 🚺🌍
🚨UPDATE.

Indigenous Peoples, people of African descent, and local communities are guardians of our nature.
Their traditional knowledge is a living library of biodiversity conservation.
They must be protected.
And they must be part of every biodiversity conversation. #COP16Colombia

The murder of #GeorgeFloyd in 2020 led to global protests for justice and an end to racism.
Four years later, this momentum has eroded, June Soomer, Chair of the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, told the @UN Human Rights Council.
