A full debate was held in Holyrood: “A New Plan for Scotland’s Teaching Workforce.” A chance to confront the crisis of insecure contracts, staff shortages and the exodus from the profession.

And the government benches? Empty.

Not a full row. Not even half. Just seat after seat left vacant by the very people meant to be responsible for fixing this.

If this is their idea of leadership
If this is how seriously they take our schools
Then every teacher in Scotland has the right to ask:
Do they just not care?

@MrBorlandPhys I’m just wondering how much the job market will improve in the next 4/5 years. I have friends who are 5 years into their career and still not permanent. I’m only in my 2nd yr after probation and not sure how much longer I can stick it out 🤷🏻‍♀️

@joods_quiff @BBCNews Well, she posted a really informative TikTok encouraging people to go and get any unusual moles checked and get a second opinion if they’re palmed off by their doctor. Can’t be a bad thing to raise awareness about cancer 🤷🏻‍♀️
