@sandpapermeadow created a concept map discussing the Canadian education system. A problem that is associated with this topic is the idea of what content is being taught. Why are more life skills not taught from a young age even though life skills are necessary? #em203problems
@em203_r discusses health, specifically sedentary lifestyles that are caused by social media, diseases associated with lack of physical activity, and inadequate access to community based exercise programs. I agree that more money should be invested into the health care system!
@shaperoem203 created a concept map that involved the consequences of unhealthy eating and lack of exercise. A problem that is associated with this topic is the pricing of healthy food vs unhealthy. Why is healthier food so much more expensive, and bad food cheap? #em203problems
@Em203Rocci created a concept map that looked at the causes, effects and solutions of global warming. A problem with this is that the causes are still exponentially rising with minimal solutions. Change needs to happen soon or who knows what will happen! #em203problems
@em203mennis I agree that as learners it is important not to get distracted as it heavily impedes us from properly retaining information. Week 3 task showed me that I am not able to multi-task while memorizing. I enjoyed learning about how to better my ability to learn. AKA no distractions!
@EM203SShah Hi Shukan! I agree that social media is a large part of how many businesses run now a days on top of the very social aspects of the apps. It was interesting to learn how all of the learning theories are connected to social media and also how they effect our learning capability!
@NadiaEm203 Hi Nadia! I agree that learning about technology and education has really changed the way I am now viewing the idea of online school. At first it was nerve-racking to think of only online class but these lessons have showed me there is so much that can be done online!
@EM203shusain In this day and age I would have assumed that we are able to readily multi task while still retaining information. But while doing the exercise I found it was not as easy as I'd thought. Technology definitely has its pros and cons when it comes to learning!
@EM203KIann I was also surprised with how our current ways of learning is effected by technology. It was interesting to see how the advancing technology has such a large effect on how we interpret and use information. You are right we are lucky to have advanced technology, especially now!
During the first 3 weeks of EM203 I have learned how social media is linked to many learning theories. I found it interesting to learn that the digital revolution created a knowledge based society, which has both positive and negative effects on society as a whole! #EM203Robin
