@DistractionLit Do you think, as a society, we are losing the ability to concentrate on longer pieces of material due to the quick and instant gratification that social media provides us? Are we spoiled by limiting ourselves to 3 min videos and 280 words?
@GaryRogowski How do you think apps such as TikTok have contributed to people's ability to process ideas. Is such quick and instant gratification taking away our ability to take in the world around us?
EM203 has been one of the most unique courses I have taken in undergrad so far! I have loved learning about multimedia, and how it can influence the way we learn. Such information came in handy when doing a hard level of Sudoku! #EM203Robin
A wonderful image of a mindmap from an Australian company called "Learning Fundamentals" about learning to focus despite all the distractions of the 21st century! #EM203robin
The issue I am looking into is 'focusing in the age of distraction' and the reasons why we are so distracted, especially by social media. The journal article I found explains the different ways we are distracted and why.

βSpend a little more time trying to make something of yourself and a little less time trying to impress peopleβ
One of my favourite quotes from one of my favourite movies! #em203research#EM203Robin
@em203akohn I completely agree that EM203 has been one of the most unique courses I've taken so far. Even the approaches used to engage with the course content are quite new to me. Looking forward to the coming weeks!
One of the problems that can be picked out of Amy's mindmap of 'Focusing in the Age of Distraction' would be the impact of digital and social media on mental health and motivation levels. #EM203problems@em203akohn
@EM203kspicer 's mindmap looks at health, and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I think it could be interesting to look at how to keep this lifestyle up as a university student, and how to time-manage. #EM203problems
@EM203nrocco 's mindmap looks at the environment and the many things we are doing to destroy the environment, as well as help to fix it. I think it would be interesting to look at who exactly these things impact the most and what we are doing for these people #EM203problems
@EM203CMasciarel 's mindmap pinpointed problems such as the struggle for Indigenous youth and access to the Internet in regard to education. In combining these two issues, you may look at how Indigenous students specifically on Reserves may access the Internet #EM203problems
@EM203CKwan I also really enjoyed looking at the other theories and seeing how they differ but also connect! I am looking forward to being able to use all theories in my learning :)
@EM203srosenberg Hi Sydney! Videos are also one of my favourite learning tools. I think it makes consuming media so much more enjoyable and easier, especially in academic settings!
