@OCAPtoronto Hi my name is Erika, I am a university student at Laurier studying Business. I’m currently trying to educate myself on the effects of poverty in Toronto. I was wondering if you guys had any key points I should be aware of? Thank you!
When I signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in 2009, it included $90 billion for clean energy projects. At the time, it was the biggest investment in renewable energy in American history.
@em203ekim Hey Erika! One problem related to poverty is the increase in grocery store prices in Canada right now. With this increase, families facing poverty will not be able to afford healthy food. #EM203problems
@EM203AbigailM hey Abigail, great mind map! I believe an underlying factor to environmental issues is the lack of punishment in place for pollution. People and businesses have the ability to get let off the hook after polluting which makes it so easy to not care.
@EM203cdavidson hey Chloe! Your mind map was so good. I believe an underlying factor to health risks is the lack of transparency of health problems that individuals face. It is easy for people to feel alone in their own problems rather than seeking help.
@EM203MRaphael hey Maria, great mind map! I believe an underlying factor to risks around type two diabetes is societies perception of diabetes and lack of awareness. Educating students at a young age around the risks is a needed major step.
@em203mlewis hey Morgan! I think you made a great map. I believe an underlying factor to chemical valley is also Sarnia’s seclusion and small population. There is less of a support and structure.
@EM203agarvey Hi Alex! I too have learned more about my own individual learning style. I find it so interesting how this course has opened my eyes to understand my own way of thinking/learning
@EM203BSpriggs Hi Britt! I too have learned a lot these past weeks. It’s so interesting to me how technology has evolved to such magnitude, and continues to grow within the education space.
@em203afrigillan I too am enjoying this class! I’ve truly learnt a lot more than expected these past few weeks. I look forward to the rest of the course.
The first three classes of EM203 has been really relevant to my current daily activities, especially reading about different learning theories. I’ve been able to analyze the way I’ve constantly been taught, and the other learning options that may be more effective.#EM203Robin
