Fixing the qualification bar for MTS posts at 12th & making Graduates, PGs & PhD holders ineligible is a disastrous precedent that criminalizes qualification & shatters the faith of our educated youth.
As per a recent survey, 4.73 lakh out of 64.8 lakh individuals surveyed in J&K in the age group of 18-60 are unemployed.
Kashmir Division: 2.94 Lakh
Jammu Division: 1.79 Lakh
In a place where nearly 5 lakh youth are jobless. With 70k+ postgraduates, 98k+ graduates & 25k+ other degree/diploma holders registered as unemployed, you are telling a graduate & a scholar that he is too qualified to even apply for a post? You are telling our gold medalists that their degrees are a disqualification?
You didn't create jobs for our qualifications (Graduates, PGs and PhDs), and now you are disqualifying our qualifications for jobs. This is not a reform, this is a punishment for going to college and university for studying.
The maximum educational qualification prescribed in the recent JKSSB notification for the recruitment of Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts has disappointed thousands of job aspirants who have pursued higher education.
JKSSB has fixed 10+2 as the maximum qualification for these posts. This simply means that candidates who have studied beyond 10+2 will not be eligible to apply.
What message is the Government sending to our educated youth? Is the government disincentivising higher education? That too at a time when we are already witnessing a decline in college admissions for past few academic sessions. Putting maximum qualification bar on jobs will further send discouraging message to young people pursuing higher education.
It is completely illogical to tell an educated young person that being more qualified makes him or her less eligible for a government job.
Those responsible for making such policies must understand that behind every degree and qualification is a young person who has spent years of hard work, time and family resources on education. Such candidates should not be penalised simply because they have studied beyond the prescribed level.
I strongly urge the Government to immediately reconsider and remove the maximum educational qualification criterion from the notification and provide equal opportunity to all.
If the existing recruitment rules stand in the way of removing this restriction, the Government must amend the rules without delay.

🚨 EDUCATION IS NOT A CRIME!
@officeofSMI stands in absolute solidarity with the Union of JKSSB Students & Aspirants. The @jkssbofficial #MTS Advertisement 09/2026 locking out Graduates, PGs, and PhDs is pure institutional cruelty.
What makes this sinister is the deception. The @JKNC_ government led by Yuvraj @OmarAbdullah set up a committee to review this qualification bar, yet sneaked the post out before the report could see the light of day! Ladakh removed this regressive rule, but our conceited CM is sprinting backward.
Our party @JKPCOfficial stands shoulder-to-shoulder with our youth. Tomorrow, we are sending formal representation letters to the @PMOIndia , @HMOIndia , Union Edu Minister, @OfficeOfLGJandK and Chairman @jkssbofficial .

Respected MLAs of J&K @JKNC_@BJP4JnK@jkpdp@INCJammuKashmir kindly raise this MTS qualification Issue with GAD: remove the upper qualification cap (12th) for MTS/Class-IV posts so Graduates can also apply. Give our unemployed graduates a fair chance! – #JKMTS#RemoveUpperCap
🚨 JKSSB MTS QUALIFICATION BAR MUST GO!
Graduation is not a crime. Higher education should never disqualify aspirants from MTS posts.
Let merit decide, not an education ceiling.
Listen to J&K aspirants. ✊

🚨 ATTENTION @CJP@abhijeet_dipke@SauravDassss
JKSSB’s MTS Advertisement No. 09 of 2026 restricts eligibility to candidates up to 12th qualification, leaving Graduates, PGs & PhD holders ineligible.
Please highlight this issue and urge the authorities to remove the maximum qualification bar.
Higher education should not be a disqualification. Let merit decide.

JKSSB has advertised MTS postsbut graduates are not eligible to apply. At a time when unemployment in JK is already high, such restrictions only reduce opportunities for educated youth. Ladakh has removed the maximum qualification cap.

MTS posts are for employment, not for punishing educated youth
Once again, the Government has kept the maximum qualification for MTS posts at 10+2. The question is simple: Where will our graduates and post-graduates go?
Is their crime that they studied more?
A young person who has spent years earning a graduation or post-graduation degree is being told that he/she is “overqualified” to even apply for an MTS post. At the same time, the Government is neither providing enough employment opportunities nor creating a pathway for these educated unemployed youth.
They are forced to set up a rehri, Do daily-wage labour, Leave their degrees at home and struggle for survival.
If a graduate or post-graduate is willing to compete for an MTS post, why should the Government stop them from applying? Let merit and competition decide who gets selected.
The Government must immediately reconsider this arbitrary maximum qualification and allow all eligible educated youth to apply.
Our youth don't need lectures. They need opportunities. Enough of excluding educated youth from government jobs!
@OmarAbdullah
In a region battling one of the country’s highest unemployment rates, J&K is now telling graduates & PGs that they are too qualified for Class-IV jobs, where the maximum qualification is 10+2.
What kind of justice is this? Who makes these rules? Where should qualified unemployed youth go? Roads are already overcrowded with autos and e-rickshaws, while government jobs remain scarce.
Instead of creating opportunities you are punishing education. If this is the policy what exactly do you want our qualified youth to do?
@OmarAbdullah
JKSSB aspirants say they are locked up in libraries, studying day and night, yet when bulk recruitment finally comes, thousands of graduates/ postgraduates find themselves ineligible because the qualification is capped at 10+2.
In a place struggling with high unemployment, how ++
For a long time, I have remembered an incident from around 2017 or 2018, if my memory serves me correctly, when I attended an Ijtimah in my hometown.
I was genuinely happy when I recently saw the conference organised by our Ahle Hadees brothers. I also remember that, about a year ago, the Sopore Ijtimah of Tablighi Jamaat was cancelled. Those scenes and memories are still fresh in my mind.
Day after tomorrow, Davoodi Sahab will also lead a grand rally in Srinagar.
If we can keep our disagreements and grudges aside, these gatherings and efforts can become achievements for all of us ,provided they are organised for the Islah, betterment and unity of our Kashmir.
At this stage of life, I have realised that constantly focusing on negative things will yield nothing.
I have strong disagreements with many of these groups, even on certain fundamental matters. But for the collective cause, I have never felt the need to raise my voice against them unnecessarily.
I also remember a group that has often been marginalised and overlooked in recent times. When, they were organising programmes ,one's heart and soul were felt enriched with peace and Imaan.
I have genuine reasons for appreciating that group from the core of my heart. They never promoted sectarianism, never taught us to hate one another despite of many differences, and always supported unity above everything else.
Disagreements are a part of fruitful discussion. Everyone has the right to respond to an argument or offer a rebuttal, but it should always be done in a respectful and constructive manner.
These are some of the teachings I learned from that group. Like every human entity, they may also have had loopholes and shortcomings on a personal or organisational level, but they never compromised when it came to calling truth the truth and falsehood the falsehood.
There are still scholars among us who would never even think of misquoting a single verse for personal benefit.
Perhaps that is why you will rarely see them constructing Masjids as separate identities or platforms for division. The consciousness was always about supporting unity and Ittihad within this Ummah.
Yes, they too have made mistakes, mistakes that, in many ways, damaged their own group and their own work of Dawah.
A movement that relied upon social, religious and political platforms faced extremely difficult times, circumstances that many people could never have imagined.
I am no one to make final claims about history. But history itself is a witness, and without bias, I am simply speaking about the truth and realities that I have observed since my childhood.
At this stage of my life, whenever I see anyone giving Dawah or supporting those things that are among our primary duties, I genuinely admire and appreciate them for their efforts to guide this distorted and divided society towards something better.
Today, when abuse, hatred, foul language and mocking others have become normal, I wish to see myself and all of you, doing exactly the opposite.
Those who constantly spread negativity create an unhealthy environment in our Valley. And those who enjoy hatred, division and destruction will only feel proud when they see us fighting among ourselves.
We need to think about many things.
We need to support one another.
Can't this hatred be transformed into love and respect for each other?
Are we not witnessing the gradual decline of our identity, culture and collective consciousness?
Are we deliberately allowing our intellect and conscience to become tools for promoting sectarian hatred?
There are questions everywhere questions that demand answers.
Think. Rethink and please, do not let your conscience become dead and silent.
Let us disagree where we must, but let us not hate each other.
Let us correct one another, but let us not destroy one another.
Let us stand for truth, but also remember that the unity, dignity and existence is above everything.
Thank you.
It has deeply disturbed me to see how some tourists from different states are using their ₹10 propaganda to create unnecessary controversy around Kashmir.
Let me say this openly, neither the Constitution of India nor its laws make it obligatory for anyone to raise particular slogans or words to prove their patriotism or identity.
And for those who may not know, the slogan associated with “Bharat Mata” has a complex history, and Azimullah Khan ,a muslim is often credited with using an early form of the expression during the 1857 uprising.History should be understood in its entirety rather than selectively.
What deeply concerns me is the way "selective outrage" is being created in our country. As a student, I can understand how badly such incidents can affect the minds of children. Offering money to children and pressuring them to repeat particular slogans is not education,it is an attempt to influence innocent minds.
The silence of those children was, in itself, a powerful response to those trying to create an atmosphere of division and hatred.
I have seen Kashmir closely. I have witnessed the hospitality of Kashmiris, a warmth that visitors often remember long after they leave. Kashmir has always welcomed guests.
We welcome tourists from every corner of the country and the world. Come, visit Kashmir, enjoy its beauty, meet its people and experience its hospitality. But please don't do so at the cost of creating a negative image of Kashmir or disturbing the minds of our children.
A child is an innocent soul, with no understanding of political agendas, religious divisions or identity-based hatred. Children should be taught education, humanity, compassion and peace not division.
If such an act is found to violate child-protection laws, the appropriate authorities should investigate it and take action according to the law. And the law should apply equally to everyone, irrespective of religion or region.
Kashmiris may be relatively peaceful today, but many continue to face serious challenges, including unemployment and restrictions on the expression of their voices. What we need is peace, dignity, opportunity and understanding not manufactured controversies.
We are peaceful.
We want to remain peaceful.
Live peacefully, and let us live peacefully.
Thank you.
