The community of @StMarysRydal stands with the communities affected by the bushfires. Today we changed this blackened tree with our gold and silver coins as well as some notes (leaves)! Grades participated in a reflection, prayed for the victims and donated generously $826.40.

This is the right policy move. Cap the numbers and then let the Unis use whatever entry requirements they like. Maybe ATAR, aptitude, interview etc. But make sure the Unis also ask applicants to teaching degrees this one key question before they enrol - ‘do you like children?’
Other Teachers may be impressed when you share your successes with them, but they will feel connected to you when you share your mistakes and failures with them!
We often ask staff to remember the challenges many students face outside of school. But we should also remember that our colleagues are often facing serious obstacles and hardships too. School needs to be a supportive and understanding environment for all.
