@Frostboi25@NormanGoodDog@porcelain_rose you need a uterus for hormone cycles to induce a period… if a healthy woman with regular periods gets a hysterectomy but keeps her ovaries (so she can still produce her own hormones), her period will still cease with removal of the uterus.
@mspaigers except when you get 5000 warnings every time it storms, you take none of them seriously. We get a “tornado warning” at the most mild hint of rotation, so when a real tornado touched down in my town, people ignored the warnings & sirens because they “never mean anything”
@brandil387292@tulipvirtues See the thing is a profoundly disabled child DOES severely impact the parents’ autonomy for the rest of that child’s life. A lot more than being pregnant does. We (obviously) wouldn’t kill the child, but killing an unborn baby because of mild inconvenience is ok?
@brandil387292@tulipvirtues I mean, there are living but profoundly disabled children who have no “organized thought or personality,” but killing them for convenience’s sake is wrong, no? They are still human children, no?
@malanorea@keira3737@girlsbian_ Plus artificial hormones can’t cycle. Like there is a very complex cycle of a bunch of hormones required for the menstrual cycle. If you actually have debilitating stomach pain monthly you need medical help, like, yesterday.
@malanorea@keira3737@girlsbian_ You quite literally have to have a uterus to have a period. Like, if a woman gets a hysterectomy but keeps her ovaries (so her body still produces its own hormones) her period will still cease with removal of the uterus.
@chrissmitty820@Jringo1508@KMCordell777 Dallas isn’t much less humid than Houston right now, though. So still not a great time for the Europeans to be there. DFW usually stays pretty humid through late spring/early summer before drying out.
@sueinphilly@BreuhausJa78343 Most shift-by-wire cars cannot be easily shifted into neutral if the battery is dead. My mom’s car has to have juice in the battery, or you have to take like half the engine bay out and have some special tool to reach some weird override on the transmission if you cant get charge
@sueinphilly@dumbbitchcap@METALGEARZEKE3 The gear shift being electric doesn’t mean the car’s electric. In newer cars the gear shift is usually completely electric, so if the battery dies you can’t just shift into neutral.
@Fat_Electrician The current way things go around here is they raise property taxes/utility rates, another 200 year old ranch falls to the burden, aaand then it turns into a housing addition or data center. So also everyone’s pissed off about that, because it’s destroying our peaceful country.
@Fat_Electrician Well, I live in a semi-rural area with both water availability & power grid issues, (like, our reservoir frequently gets extremely low and every winter & summer we get warned about statewide brownouts). We literally don’t have the infrastructure to support the data centers.
I don't think they realized what type of people play blue collar games where you do labour jobs in a digital setting, in their free time, for fun. These people are on a whole different level of enjoying filling out end of shift spreadsheets. They may even be, forgive me, Germans.
