One of the worst sex offenders in recent history served as a Met officer for 20 years.

Despite the police being repeatedly told of allegations, he was allowed to serve, carry a gun and use his position to assault women.

This is not a “bad apple”. The problem is institutional.

BREAKING🚨| The government has announced anti-strike legislation.

When workers democratically vote to strike, they can be forced to work and sacked if they don’t. This is wrong, unworkable, and almost certainly illegal.

Last night I checked into the emergency department at my local hospital*. I saw firsthand what has happened to the NHS. However much you read, it doesn't prepare you for the terrible reality. This thread tells a now-ordinary but - in this rich nation - almost unbelievable story.

The queen sat in her palace on her golden throne, wearing her crown that’s worth 4 billion pounds. While in the same country, millions of people struggle to even feed their kids. The monarchy has no sympathy for you, nothing in common with you. They never have or ever will.

The price of butter is up 21.5%; milk is up 26.3%; the price of pasta rose 50% between April 2021 & April 2022. Energy bills are up by 300% & rising.

Inflation isn’t 9.4%. For ordinary people who have eating & keeping warm as their priority, inflation is out of control.
