Meet Jennifer Doudna and CRISPR!
Our team is trying to figure out why there is so much variation in how many pups females produce throughout their lifetime - and how this can shape populations (whether it be Weddell seals, or any other species). (1/4)
B-026 has been very busy and we are running a bit behind on our posts!
We have been watching Weddell seal mom Maya Angelou and her pup, Calypso. Maya is among the most successful seals in our study population at producing pups-she is 21 years old and Calypso is her 14th pup! 1/4
a GORGEOUS day in McMurdo, with the entire team surveying the Weddell seals in our study area - and in front of Mt. Erebus (the world's southernmost active volcano). NMFS 23273 #NSFfunded
We are looking for PhD students for new projects with Weddell and grey seals - physiology and dive behavior. Come find or email me or Jenn Burns ([email protected], [email protected]) at #SMM2022!!
