WHAT WE SEE...AND WHAT WE DON'T
Whenever eMA holds mentorship events or bootcamps, we are happy when the room is full of laughter, talent & energy as young people enjoy the day's activities. But as a mentor, I look beyond the visible, especially when we ask “What holds you back?”
THE QUIET COMPARISON
Some days it feels like everyone else is moving…
Except you.
- You grew up in the same neighborhood.
- You went to the same school.
- You selected the same career pathway.
But somehow, their 🚪 doors open faster.
And you wonder… what am I missing?
Happy Labour Day 2026!
We celebrate the dedication, resilience, & hard work of individuals who continue to build, create, and transform our communities.
At eMentoring Africa, we recognize that behind every thriving society is a workforce driven by purpose, skills, & opportunity.
SELLING YOURSELF
You have the college papers. You have the general knowledge. You even have practical skills. But when it comes to speaking about yourself. You freeze. No one taught you how to show your value. And yet the world expects it. Confidence is a skill, not a personality
THE QUIET ONES
The world celebrates the bold.
But not everyone is loud.
Some people are thoughtful… observant… quiet.
And they wonder if that is a weakness.
IT IS NOT!
You don’t have to become loud.
You just need to become clear.
Yesterday's eMentoring Africa Mentorship Day for Lady Hope Wellness Institute at St Catherine of Siena, Kitisuru, was a very interactive day. We had group circle sessions, dream wall with each dream written, fun games with puzzles, scramble, darts, dancing and even catwalking.
STARTING BEHIND
Some people don’t start from zero.
They start from less than zero.
No resources.
No guidance.
No soft landing.
And yet, they show up.
If that’s your story, let us assure you:
You are not behind.
You are building from a different ground.
Walk with eMA.
Mentorship in Action
“I am really proud of my mentee and the growth he is showing… from leading his group to confidently delegating responsibilities. A first-year student stepping up to coach a classmate — that is real leadership in action.”~ Evelyn Wanjiku, Mentor

THE FALL
You try. You push. You go all in.
Then you fall. Hard.
Not once. Not twice…
People start to wonder.
Even YOU start to wonder.
But maybe falling is not failure.
Maybe it's feedback just not the kind we like.
Still getting up. Still walking. Still believing.
Walk with us
eMentoring Africa Team, Josiah Lekartiwa and Lorenzo Alulu visited Ajax Rockcity in Mathare on 18th April 2026.
Not just outreach, it was storytelling, music & games igniting energy and hope in young minds.
Highlight: Dr. Ben Carson's story inspiring the kids.
BECOMING
Many times we think becoming is a straight line.
Now we KNOW it is MVIRINGO (circle). We return to things. We relearn. We start again, but differently.
Maybe that is growth. Not moving forward all the time,
but deepening.
In mentorship, walk with us we'll figure it out!
The Trenches
Some days feel like you are back in the trenches.
Learning things you thought you had already mastered. Unlearning others you held onto for too long. Entrepreneurship will humble you like that. One moment you're in a boardroom, the next you're in kindergarten again.
You can’t change the whole world, but you can change the world for one. Addressing community challenges like youth support feels like a drop in the ocean? Remember the starfish boy? Skeptic says, "You can't save them all." He tosses one: "It made a big difference to that one."
Defining Your Reality? 💭
Tony Robbins' Awaken the Giant Within raises the questions:
Setback = "wall" or "crossroads"?
Victim or architect?
Problems or possibilities?
eMentoring Africa empowers youth through mentorship.
Shift your mindset with authentic mentorship! 💪🏾

“A good mentor truly cares for you and your interests.” – Vivek Wadhwa
At eMentoring Africa, mentorship goes beyond advice. Our mentors listen, guide, and walk with young people, putting their growth, dreams, and wellbeing at the center. That’s true mentorship
