The @NCAA said no to @TexasTechFB QB Brendan Sorsby after he admitted gambling on his own team. A Texas court just said Sorsby can play. The latest @usatodaysports: https://t.co/43daMy8pts
@gregblunk Think Nick Cross was also on the list. So those 5 players. Bunch of good guys, and they did a lot in the community, but could definitely make the argument that they will be better off with new players, especially long term.
@gregblunk I was wrong. Moore, Smith, and Franklin were on the team when they won a 2019 wildcard game. But none of them have been a part of a team that has won the division. I lean #2, too. Smith was a free agent, but others were in last year of contract and would not have been extended.
@gregblunk@mchappell51 Heard Colts have lost players (off and def) that had a combined 490ish starts with the team. Could look at it one of two ways:
1. Losing core players who meant a lot to the team and hard to replace.
2. Losing core players who have never won a playoff game.
You #1 or #2, Greg?
Believe the Woodson buyout and the DeVries buyout from WVU are included in this number, but that still leaves just over $19 million spent for the 2025-2026 season. Yikes
@gregblunk I think that's true about Jones. I feel Pierce will get $25+ million per yr. He's the best WR in free agency & there's several teams w/ lots of cap room in need of a WR, which will drive up his price. Good for him & bad for the #Colts. Afraid they blew it - again. Hope I'm wrong
@gregblunk More I think about this, transition tag makes no sense. 1st- you get no comp if he signs elsewhere and Colts don't match. 2nd- if they didn't tag him, they could still negotiate with him and give best offer and opportunity. 3rd- let Pierce become FA. Why would he resign here?
