Email Marketing Tip:
Tell people when your bestsellers are back in stock
> Email #1: Back in stock announcement
> Email #2: Shop this best bestseller before it's gone again
Simple yet so effective
This resulted in more than $48,000 in sales for this client
Welcome flow optimization worth testing, especially for impulse-purchase brands 👇
Add an extra email 2-4 hours after welcome email #1, and before welcome email #2.
We know from data across a ton of brands that most new email subscribers who convert, convert FAST.
The first 24 hours is usually where you see the biggest spike in orders.
But most brands only send one welcome email during that entire high-intent window.
So instead of waiting until the next day for welcome email #2, test adding a "1.5" email a few hours after the first one, while intent is still high 👌
Just beat our highest revenue-generating campaign by $13k for this brand lol.
Going to be rinsing this angle over time for them.
-> Find clear winner emails
-> Repurpose periodically
-> Spin up similar angles
-> Enjoy the extra revenue
-> Repeat
A lot of brands are blindly switching their popups to “mystery discounts” because they’ve heard online they convert better.
And sometimes they do, obviously.
But not always.
We just tested a completely different offer against a mystery discount for one of our clients.
Popup submit rate was almost identical.
So you could easily look at the test and conclude that it made no difference.
But if you look further down the funnel, specifically at the first welcome email...
Welcome Email #1 - Mystery Offer:
→ 45.2% open rate
→ 8.2% click rate
→ 3.1% placed order rate
Welcome Email #1 - New Offer:
→ 48.6% open rate
→ 14% click rate
→ 4.2% placed order rate
That’s a 70% higher click rate + a 35% higher placed order rate from the new offer.
And the craziest part is that this new offer actually gives the brand BETTER first-order margins too.
We have other clients where mystery offers absolutely crush everything else we test.
For this brand, we found something else that apparently crushed it.
There is no universally “best” popup offer.
- ALWAYS test your offers
- ALWAYS test how you frame those offers
And don’t declare a winner just because one gets more email submissions.
Revenue and profit is the ultimate goal.
Best A/B tests to focus on to increase your pop-up performance:
- Offer
- Gamification
- Layout
- Time delay
- Copywriting
- Design
More emails collected = more flow and campaign recipients = more revenue
Email A/B test we're running 🧪
Short subheader copywriting vs. longer subheader copywriting.
Results typically differ a lot from brand to brand from what we're seeing.
Test it out!
