After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.
May God bless America.
VAT Revenue for 2025 was estimated to be N8 Trillion. ( ONLY VAT oo), and this is based on estimated VAT compliance efficiency rate of about 30%
... with stricter enforcement and leverage of technology as provided in NTAA 2025, Nigeria may likely generate at least N16 Trillion in 2026...at projected compliance rate of 60 to 65%.

President Tinubu Affirms January 1, 2026, Commencement of Major Tax Reforms.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a firm statement reaffirming that Nigeria's landmark tax reform laws will take effect as scheduled on January 1, 2026, describing the changes as a "once-in-a-generation opportunity" to establish a fairer and more competitive fiscal system.
The statement reads: “The new tax laws, including those that took effect on June 26, 2025, and the remaining acts scheduled to commence on January 1, 2026, will continue as planned.
“These reforms are a once-in-a-generation opportunity to build a fair, competitive, and robust fiscal foundation for our country.
“The tax laws are not designed to raise taxes, but rather to support a structural reset, drive harmonisation, and protect dignity while strengthening the social contract.
“I urge all stakeholders to support the implementation phase, which is now firmly in the delivery stage.
“Our administration is aware of the public discourse surrounding alleged changes to some provisions of the recently enacted tax laws.
“No substantial issue has been established that warrants a disruption of the reform process. Absolute trust is built over time through making the right decisions, not through premature, reactive measures.
“I emphasise our administration's unwavering commitment to due process and the integrity of enacted laws. The Presidency pledges to work with the National Assembly to ensure the swift resolution of any issue identified.
“I assure all Nigerians that the Federal Government will continue to act in the overriding public interest to ensure a tax system that supports prosperity and shared responsibility.”
This is not to clarify whether this appears in the harmonised version of the law or the gazetted one. That’s entirely an issue not within my remit.
I am responding purely from a taxpayer education standpoint. The point is that many tax jurisdictions across the world require a security deposit as a condition precedent to the prosecution of a tax appeal, e.g. Kenya, India, Brazil, United States…etc.
In Nigeria, the existing practice direction provides for a deposit of 50% of the tax in dispute, as contained in the Tax Appeal Tribunal (Procedure) Rules, 2021.
The objective is to deter frivolous litigation, preserve the time value of money & ensure fiscal continuity, on the basis that government must not, at any time, be rendered insolvent by protracted tax disputes.
Long story short, in Finance, security deposit is a fiscal buffer.
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un!
It is with heavy heart and great sadness we received the news of the passing of our great leader and mentor today of Dr Kabir Kabo
Usman, DG ICICE Abuja.
He passed on this evening in Manchester United Kingdom.
I heard her testimony, wai she woke up in the night to a bright light filling her room and heard a voice telling her that she had been "baptized by the Holy Spirit" and that she should go and serve in a new faith.
Let me share this story about Sidi Abdul-Qadir Jilani (R.A.)
One day, as Sidi Abdul-Qadir Jilani was entering Baghdad, he stopped (as he usually did) to pray Nafila. During this moment, he had an encounter with Shaitan (devil) appeared to him in the form of a bright light and said to him:
“I am your Lord. You no longer need to worship Me. You have already done enough to last you a lifetime.”
Sidi Abdul-Qadir Jilani immediately responded:
“A‘udhu billahi minash-shaidanir rajim.”
Suddenly, the supposed light turned into darkness and descended before him, revealing its true form.
Shaidan (devil) then said to him: “Your knowledge about God is astonishing. What is it that made you realize it was me?”
To cut the story short, Shaidan was embarrassed!!!
So this woman just had an encounter with the devil and nothing much.
May Allah continue to strengthen our Iman and protect us from the tricks of the devil.
In this segment of my interview with Channels TV, I urged President Tinubu to take five radical steps to regain control of our security situation. President Tinubu must go radical now to fix Nigeria’s security crisis. We cannot continue with business as usual. Take a listen.
