got time to rewatch Game 1. I liked the process the Knicks used against Wemby denying paint position on catches, loading the gaps on drives, and consistently funneling him into the MOF. It generated turnovers without surrendering clean kickout looks & forced a high # of jumpers
post made me think of this graphic, how it makes guys like shai have great impact on defense
the ft generation forcing 1 of least efficient opp offense
hyper efficient 2p diet, reduces opp transition opportunities
1 of histories best TO suppressors reducing the most efficient O
the least efficient offense has most consistently come after:
timeouts: -4.3 ORtg / -6.2 eFG / -6.2 TS
deadballs: -4.0 / -2.1 / -2
made FTs: -3.4 / -2.1 / -1.9
so hereโs players during higher-volume scoring seasons in these tougher offensive possessions

Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me.
In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.
@WowStik if i had chart on me i would send but it was showing burrow seasons wen he moved more out of pocket wen dealing w pressure and showed better results. not only that but i think he puts team in kind of a bind with performing mostly out of shotgun(a lot of dis is due to scheme tho
people on my TL say burrow better than ppl like allen/lamar bc heโs a better processor and doesnโt rely on athleticism, w burrows game thriving off of great anticipation and accuracy, and it creates a bias towards one style of play dispute the other driving better results
@WowStik agree with this, itโs hard to make a 1:1 comparison. The athletic traits were not only the mobility but the arm strength and angles that he is able to access compared to other qbs. I also think the moving out the pocket and ability to create does in fact generate more positives-
was hinting at this when i posted abt ppl saying he should bulk, I think ppl should take in the trade offs before making a decision like that, there is definitely things he can add to his game while still being able to maintain this frame to make him more resilient
hoping Shai leans more into layering what heโs already great at instead of a physical transformation / feels like heโd benefit more from a yr of experimentation and testing his limits than another efficiency maxxing reg season

and (not to knock on shai) but similarly ppl will fantasize over the stuff heโs able to do at this size without considering the stuff that can make him vulnerable bc of athletic profile itโs a trend that follows both sports iโve noticed
or to drive it back further, ppl tend to fantasize over drew breeโs even calling him maybe the best qb ever cs โlook at wat he was able to do at that heightโ or stuff like that, not considering the downsides such as(more vulnerable to pressure, field vision, interception profile)

He was essentially a PG/functioned more as a lead guard than a traditional two. We probably lost some defensive value from him playing the 2. Wades offenses bode well with him as a PG tho.
09-11 with him as the PG
1.1K min
117.6 ortg(+9.9 rORTG)
31 per 75
58.31 TS(+4 rTS)
kinda under-discussed how he essentially enabled dual PG lineups(he was essentially a pg) we donโt rlly see too many sg historically have the on ball usage that wade did, and he was good defensively so it was ok. these lineups produced great offenses despite not amazing situation
