🚨Alexis Mac Allister on his altercation with Elliot Anderson:
🗣️Reporter: “Alexis, there was a heated exchange between you and Anderson during the match. Can you tell us what happened?”
🎙️Alexis Mac Allister:
“Honestly, I don't usually like talking about these things because I prefer to let my football do the talking. But when someone says certain things to you on the pitch, sometimes you feel you have to respond.
“He told me that I'm nothing without Lionel Messi. I found that disrespectful because, of course, Messi is the greatest player I've ever played alongside, and I'm proud to be Argentine and to have shared the pitch with him. But that doesn't mean my entire career belongs to somebody else.
“Then he started making comments about us Argentines, calling us racists. That's when I felt the conversation had gone too far.”
🗣️Reporter: “And what was your response to him?”
🎙️Mac Allister:
“I looked at him and told him, ‘I have more trophies than England.’
“Maybe it sounds provocative, but he had questioned my achievements and tried to make it personal. I'm a world champion with Argentina, I've won major trophies at club level, and I've worked incredibly hard to reach this level.
“People can debate football all they want. They can criticise my performances, question my ability or compare me with other midfielders. That's part of the game, and I accept it.
“But don't tell me I'm nothing without Messi. Playing alongside Leo has been a privilege, not something I need to apologise for. And don't judge an entire nation because of an argument between two footballers.
“I respect England, I respect English football, but I will never be ashamed of being Argentine. Our history, our players and our achievements speak for themselves.”
le agradezco a Dios todos los días de mi vida que haya existido un 18 de diciembre de 2022, porque si hoy duele imaginate lo desgarrador que hubiese sido para todos si Messi no fuese campeón del mundo, la sola idea me hace mierda
