@maggiecsiebert Agreed. Teatro Grottesco is pound for pound his best collection, imo. There are stories from both Songs and Grimscribe that I absolutely adore, but nothing in Noctuary hit the same
@maggiecsiebert Couldn't agree more with Wagner, and Campbell's popularity has always left me scratching my head. I've tried reading several of his collections and at least one of his novels and none of them really worked for me (I intentionally avoid lovecraft pastiche whenever I can).
@robrenstrom @ChrisKelso5 Can confirm. In the Dark (the movie) was so much fun it almost tricked me into giving Laymon another chance. Maybe more of his stuff should be adapted? As much as I cringe at his prose I would definitely watch a shoestring budget sov adaptation of the celler.
@horrorsong I feel like he's not too obscure for fans of the genre, but there's definitely some renewed interest in his work that I think is rad! There was a documentary about him that came put a year or two ago (the last wolf? I think?) that if you haven't seen I def reccomend!
@BrianKeene@WrathJW @HaileyPiperSays @hystericteeth@WesSouthard For the sake of conversation- was this a panel at stokercon that was recorded, by chance? I'm sure its been talked about to death at this point but I would love to hear from the authors what they feel the difference is.
@maggiecsiebert Honestly wish I did but I'm a degenerate who has only ever successfully weaned off drugs by substituting them with other drugs. Last time I quit smoking weed for a significant amount of time I started drinking excessively but, uh, I don't think you want to do that
