The English version of @jokawaharalino san's interview with me about Rain Blooms has now been published on @themassagejp!
In the interview, I talk about:
- The influence of Hiroshi Kawano
- Computer-like forms of expression
- Authorship
- The significance of LED panel works
- My commitment to small systems
There are many things discussed here that I haven’t shared anywhere else. I’d be very happy if you gave it a read.🙏
Thank you for finding this🙏 Let me explain a little!🙂
Rain Blooms progresses deterministically. If it is viewed at the same resolution with sound turned off, it will reproduce the same sequence of changes. However, when sound is turned on, the shapes and timing of the dropped forms are designed to vary depending on the exact moment when the sound is enabled.
In theory, if you could reproduce the exact frame at which the sound is turned on, the same sequence of changes should unfold. In practice, however, doing that manually is quite difficult. As a result, once sound is turned on, the progression may appear to differ.
EMULATION: Selections from the Art Blocks 500 is now open at the Museum of Art + Light (MoA+L) until August 16, 2026. @museumartlight

@KZ_LAB_E The movement and sound were a big part of why I chose this piece, not just the still image. Thank you for this wonderful Art Blocks × NEORT++ project!
