My new favorite word: sonder.
It's the profound awareness that every person you encounter has experienced a lifetime of hopes, fears, loves, and heartaches that you'll never know.
Each moment of sonder is a reminder to appreciate how little we truly grasp about others' lives.
What a day! Thank you to our friends and Education and Health colleagues in Orkney for such a positive response to Key Messages and taking steps towards being a neuro-affirming community 😊
Our great friend and colleague, the late Pip StJohn was one of a kind. She created some fantastically useful pre-teaching vocabulary resources. Evidence based and free. Check them out here: https://t.co/oWuTffgJyZ

@MorrisonBeth are you able to help bring awareness to Megan’s plight? She’s in the William Fraser in Edinburgh and is scared and hurt https://t.co/g7VegxanON
"Findings..many autistic children felt misunderstood by their teachers & peers, wt many freq experiencing bullying...Supporting school relationships & fostering a sense of belonging is therefore a clear implication...for inclusive educational policies for autistic pupils."
@Hinton_House @DrTinarae May I enquire why you are still using person first language, against the wishes of the autistic community? Ditto “ASD”. This is not neuro-affirming language. Were any #actuallyautistic girls or clinicians consulted in the creation of this pack?
@stephendeazley we’re all buzzing at teatime after #rhythmofstones. Gorgeous music, goosebumps! The way you got the best out of the kids was sublime. I hope they all keep playing the Assipattle clapping game. #proudmum#stmagfest
