The memo lies beneath the Cyprus Constitution, which states that the Rep of Cyprus is a bi-communal partnership state of GCs and TCs - in which sovereignty is shared ie Where the legitimate Gov cannot be the representatives of only ONE community

To ‘repair what conflict has broken’ we need equal rights for both communities. The equality which the UN espouses, but which they betray by imposing embargoes on the Turkish Cypriots.
The UN has isolated the Turkish Cypriots for 62 years.
Tree planting won’t fix the problem
Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay! 🌍💚
#GenerationRestoration is about more than planting trees 🌱: It's about repairing what conflict has broken, including nature. 🕊️🌿
In #Cyprus, #UNFICYP peacekeepers from military, @UNPOL, and civilian components are showing how small actions, like reducing waste ♻️, protecting water 💧, planting native species 🌸, and supporting local communities 🤝, can have a big impact.
Join the movement. Restoration starts at our doorstep. 🚪🌍
A ‘powerful reminder’ that the Greek Cypriot diaspora are repeating the errors of the past, of today - and the root cause of the #Cyprob - by acting as if Cyprus is a Greek island, rather than their shared home with Turkish Cypriots
A wide ranging conversation & powerful reminder of the extraordinary contribution of the #UKCypriot Diaspora at today’s @CypForum with Dragons @TheoPaphitis & @toukersuleyman, facilitated by @elenicourea
Hosted by @CyprusInUK & coorganised with @cyinthecity
A clear demonstration that when our community comes together there is nothing we cannot achieve!
@FionaMullenCY Would US interest stop a potential attack by Israel?
Or, at best, suggest it’s not a good idea - and meanwhile provide arms them to help them attack?
All the evidence would appear to support the latter.
“It’s not just about uniforms, patrols and procedures…”
It’s also shopping, sunbathing and medals. Medals awarded on the pretence that the UN keep the peace, rather than impose embargoes on one of the 2 sovereign communities - while being paid by the other

A day in a life of a peacekeeper in #Cyprus
A young peacekeeper with #UNFICYP explains why, for him, #serving4peace “is not just about uniforms, patrols, or procedures, but about allowing people to live normal lives in safety.” #PKDay#InvestinPeace

“Passionate about the campaign for a #FreeUnitedCyprus”
And yet, while excitedly hiring new staff, they are looking for people with Greek and English. But… no Turkish.
It’s almost as if their vision of a united Cyprus doesn’t include Turkish Cypriots.

We don’t need to have a special day to remember how dearly the Greek Cypriots would like Cyprus to be reunited with Greece
The Turkish Cypriot people have been paying the price for their myopic outdated objective, since December 1963
🇬🇷 Defense Minister Nikos Dendias:
Today we remember and honor the struggles of the people of the Ionian Islands for union with Greece.
What memory always teaches us is the duty of today’s Greeks: to preserve intact the sovereignty and sovereign rights of our homeland, as mandated by our Constitution, regardless of any threats or challenges.
The EU parliament would do well to recall that Turkish troops were guaranteed to leave on the back of a settlement, which EU member ‘Rep of Cyprus (under control of only one side of a partnership state)’ rejected. And which the EU rewarded them for, with accession.
As usual, you’re concerned about Greek Cypriot hegemony in Cyprus. And about Greece.
A ‘Cypriot’ organisation should concern itself about why one partner in a partnership state is the sole recognised authority.
And why it uses that to isolate the other partner. For 62 years.
We are concerned by the recent 'Blue Homeland' law proposed by 🇹🇷 President Erdogan's AK Party
The law claims areas that are internationally recognised as part of Cyprus and Greece as part of Turkey's maritime jurisdiction
Cyprus warns that this threatens regional stablity
Sport and politics should not mix.
Using sport to further the isolation of a community is particularly cruel
The Commonwealth Games torch (King’s Baton) represents “a calling together of people from EVERY part of the Commonwealth family”
Everyone, except Turkish Cypriots…
If a patient falsifies the symptoms and the Dr fails to personally investigate we will end up with an incorrect diagnosis.
The ensuing treatment will be incorrect, and the result will be more likely to exacerbate, rather then cure the condition
Welcome to the Cyprus Problem
This is the flawed Greek way of looking at the whole issue. The Cypriot Greeks have refused three solutions packages prepared by UN Secretary Generals, the last being the ditched Annan Plan. Their twisted argument is that Turkey woke up one morning and decided to ‘invade’ a Greek island called Cyprus
Should Turkey leave the island all together, they would demand full sovereignty over the Aegean. Should Turkey comply with that they would demand trillions of euros as compensation for something Turkey did not commit
It was a huge mistake on the part of the EU to let Greek Cyprus in the Union representing the whole island. Turkey should not be expected to pay for the blunder the EU committed
Should the serious countries of the EU want Turkey in the EU or should they seriously be considering serious cooperation with Turkey they could shut up third rank countries easily. They could/should say: ‘if you were to continue to veto Turkey-related issues within the EU we are gonna start vetoing all the funds you’re getting out the Union. How about that’
That would mean business with them. Otherwise it would be all the same non-starters, nothing but wasting time and energy to which Turkish public is terribly hostile
Rinse and repeat NO and PERIOD
News flash!
The EU lost all credibility when they accepted Greek Cypriots to enter the EU as the sole authority in a partnership state, despite their massive No to settlement
And when they failed to deliver on promises to end isolation of Turkish Cypriots, despite majority Yes
These two headlines don’t belong to the same country.
“Cyprus will become an international centre for arbitration”
while simultaneously:
“No arbitration talk” on the Cyprus problem.
One cannot market arbitration abroad while treating it as taboo at home.
Peace processes need credible dispute-resolution mechanisms. Arbitration is not some form of surrender. It is how difficult agreements survive crises, deadlocks and mistrust.

A slap in the face for the isolationist policies of Greek Cyprus
Perhaps they need to increase the pay cheque which they currently hand over to UNFICYP to cover ALL their costs, for which they clearly expect something in return…
It seems the UN want a pay rise.
Bi-communal bird watching! How quaint.
Incidentally, one of the few things which Turkish Cypriots can do, despite the all-encompassing embargoes which the Greek Cypriots - and the apparently impartial UN - imposes upon them
To mark #WorldMigratoryBirdDay UNFICYP organized a bi-communal bird watching activity in Kalkanli/Kapouti with children and their families in cooperation with @birdlifecyprus and @Kuskor.
The day highlights the urgent need for #ClimateAction to protect them from threats like habitat loss, plastic pollution, and the climate crisis. #A4P

@FionaMullenCY So many things could be done by the EU - and Greece and Türkiye themselves - to promote and benefit from cooperation rather than costing themselves time, money and energy on rivalry. And it should start in Cyprus.
But, the EU chose to exacerbate rather than solve the CyProb
