Where did I say TQ+? And 6% of Muslims in the UK doesn't = 100% of them being orthodox.

No one is deluded. Queers aren't going away, and their support has been trending up for decades, as is expected in a modern, progressive environment.

A ridged religion will organically become more distant from the views and culture of the general populous. The UK is not, and never will, go backwards to satisfy orthodox views.

So the choices for followers of orthodox Islam are modernise, move, or live in ever-growing obscurity.

The statement is fair. Religion is a choice, he's not questioning one's 'right' to be here. If an orthodox religion (which one 'chooses' to follow) remains ridged, its values will organically become more distant to those held by majority as a country becomes more progressive. So, if those surroundings become inimical to religious pursuit, is that environment one you want to be a part of? The options are reform the religion, move to a region where others share your values, or live in parallel society (with all the bad that brings).

Social attitudes change for the better. Society becomes more empathetic. You (and other followers of orthodox Islam) have had the same opportunity as everyone else to become better, to become kinder, but you insist on rigidity and then complain about your environment.

I grew up in the 1980s when the majority of Brits opposed LGBTQ. Opinion only saw a major shift in the late 90s until today.

Britain was also massively racist in the 80s before becoming less racist after the year 2000. Now it's back to being blatantly racist again with X leading the way.

My point being that social attitudes change like the wind, but Islamic teachings remain constant and unchanging. Alhamdulilah.

@ShitShow786 @RmSalih It's not thriving. A lot of it doesn't align with modern British culture, thus people who persist with archaic rhetoric (legal or not) are ostracized. That's not thriving, that's hanging on for dear life.

@GnosisWolf Because we'll end up with a real hard-right nationalist party in power before something like that can happen. If it's genuinely going to shit bad things will happen. That isn't to say that I don't worry about voting bocks and the threat of orthodox Islam.

Pause immigration for 3 years. Remove incremental benefits to families that are more than +1 the UK national average of children. Ban face coverings in public. Ban cousin marriage. Ban polygamy no matter where the marriages happened. Tackle parallel societies. Get real with the triple lock. Blacklist every country from immigration where observed crime from those people is a multiple of UK averages. Make agreements with multiple counties to offload illegal immigrants where the country of origin refuses them. Cross-charge all legal fees and fees associated with imprisoning someone back to their CoO (if they refuse, subtract the amount from any aid etc we pay already). No foreign language in our courts or council meetings.

We're going to have to get very tough (but fair), otherwise you can simply extrapolate crime, immigration, or budgetary figures to see what kind of mess we're going to be in in a decade.

Official figures show an unbelievable 4 in 10 babies born in England and Wales last year were to foreign parents, with India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Romania and Bangladesh being the top 5.
At this rate it’s only three decades or so before we are no longer a white country as “ foreign” parents produce more children than indigenous ones.
It’s tough to discuss these figures ( from the ONS) as inevitably you are branded a racist and they may or may not worry you, but the outcome is now inescapable.
I suspect if the reverse were true, Indian or Pakistan were going white, there would be a healthy debate.
Over here nothing but mumblings. Strange.
