Kyoto just banned kimono
from a temple.
Read that again.
Not because kimono is the problem.
Because people treated the temple
like a film set.
They walked on the white sand garden.
They moved the sliding doors
until the doors broke.
They started a calligraphy show
inside the main hall
and stained the tatami with ink.
So the temple had to say it out loud.
This is not a theme park.
Japan’s own clothes
got banned from Japan’s own temple
so the room would stop being used
as content.
That is how far this has gone.
