My family has a well to supply our water, filtered by using reverse osmosis (left faucet: well water, right faucet: RO water). It is an efficient way to filter water, as well as reduces the amount of waste water released back into the environment. @franklinlorax #apeswater

@HM510987apes @franklinlorax This is a great observation - I have also noticed more of my neighbors salting their driveways, especially with the storm recently. The salt in run-off can affect the salinity of nearby water sources and decrease the biodiversity in the marine environment.

A snow prediction caused the city to salt the roads. However when the snow melts the runoff will carry the salt into the waterways and is bad for our tires. We should try to use sand to be more environmentally friendly :) @franklinlorax #apeswater

The shower uses a lot of water, the shower running for one minute uses around 2.5 gallons of water. I try to take showers 10 minutes or less to reduce the amount of water I am using. #apeswater @franklinlorax

This is my water bottle that I use around my house and for XC. I reuse this bottle to cut down on my plastic usage since most plastic bottles do not end up getting properly disposed of and end up contaminating water supplys and landfills. #Apesintro @franklinlorax

In order to decrease our carbon footprint, my family only has heating on one level of our house. This lowers the release of greenhouse gases from our heating significantly, as the use of electricity is powered by burning fossil fuels. #apesintro @franklinlorax
