Heartbreaking news 😥
40-50 pilot whales have been cruelly and inhumanely slaughtered in the Faroe Islands this evening. The 8th hunt of 2023, taking the total cetaceans killed in the archipelago to +- 850 https://t.co/Q9vs63xYxe #DontVisitFaroe
@KJF239 Review as a first choice, but not if covering more than a 2 lessons of a class...then new content with videos etc. And very simple tasks.
I have done careers tasks but some stdnts don't value it so bfl becomes trickier for cover staff.
***COMPETITION***
Oops, silly me. I ordered 4 too many copies of my KS3 physics workbook so *have* to give some away.
One will be given to:

@missdcox With terminal assessment, I dont think we can assume that a student who nailed a topic in Y10, remembers all the fine detail of it by the end of Year 11. Its revision, which is recap and a chance for teachers to give specific reminders, not just additional teaching hours imo.
@scitechbeck We use it, but our amazing tech had time over lockdown to set up. It takes time so that would need a realistic timescale. Great for sharing instruction sheets and making sure ppl consider risk assessments as it asks for confirm every req and shows hazards.
We are dismayed, disappointed, and deeply concerned. UK Gov has just approved the use of a banned pesticide so powerful; a single teaspoon could kill 1.25 billion bees. This is a huge mistake. If we want to #DefendNature we must #SayNoToNeonics. 👉

See you there?
@cravenscience1 I would say if you plan for goodwill, people take this as it is expected, and then no longer feel willing to offer and so start to refuse. Have seen this with teachers giving up own time for revision etc plenty of times. Its changing the rules of engagement.
@MrsHumanities Speak to your line manager about chairing part of a discussion at your next middle leaders meeting? Ours always have time for us to add agenda items and this sounds like it would benefit everyone in your school.
@WhistleblowingT This is a no from me.
BUT please remember: schools were told that last year due to covid, they could ask and if the trainee agreed, it was ok.
This may be a result of cover lead not being updated that this is no longer the case. Speak to uni who can then manage this situation.
@MBDscience We had this a year ago! A local news agents was selling them in packs. All of Y10 and Y11 were messing around with them and we constantly found them around the school. Lasted about 3 months...sorry guys.
"Does anyone have a curriculum policy they can share?"
a DHT recently asked the We Are In Beta community
So we did a some research.
What we found was fascinating.
RT this and I'll send you a link to the findings.
@MNarajos Yep, whole cohort (has an exam feel to it - good rehersal) and in class. Read through the question, underline key info/ command words, (also add memory ques if cohort are low confidence) then let them have less time than a mark a min as you read. Model ans live. Silent throughout
