We suspected that Gypsy might be pregnant and Gypsy was indeed expecting kittens.

Treating her became so delicate, as we couldn't risk harming the lives growing within her.

Sadly, Gypsy's condition deteriorated, leaving her struggling for every breath.

That night, she stayed in the oxygen cage.
The next morning… she was gone.

Her body couldn’t take it.

She was so young…
She didn’t get to see anything beautiful in this life.

She was born… she was hurt… and she died.

Baby Brielle has teeth already, meaning she is 3 weeks old.. but at only 160 grams, she’s the size of a 1 week old kitten 😭

Her X-rays are clear so we still don’t know if her back legs are struggling because of a joint issue or because she’s so severely malnourished.

In September 2023, during a strong hurricane, a rescue diver was checking a flooded house.

The basement was full of dirty water, broken items, and debris.

At first, it looked completely empty.

Then the diver saw a dog’s eyes reflecting in his light.

The dog was alive but trapped inside the basement.

He was chained to a concrete pillar as the water rose.

The water was almost reaching his mouth, leaving very little air.

The diver called for help and tried to free the dog.

After struggling, he finally cut the chain.

The dog was extremely weak and collapsed from exhaustion.

The rescue team quickly brought him to safety.

The dog was later named Harbor.

Vets said he survived for hours by standing on his back legs.

He slowly recovered and was adopted by a family.

Now he is safe, but still gets scared during heavy rain.

The rescue team keeps his story as a reminder to never stop checking for life in disasters.

🆘 Prohíben donación en el Zoológico de #Camagüey: "Se prohíbe ayudar, pero no el abandono" Avísenle a Greta a ver si así pide por la libertad de #Cuba.

En el Zoológico de Camagüey la falta de cuidados y la desnutrición de los animales han generado una ola de indignación. Tras la circulación de imágenes desgarradoras que muestran a leones y otras especies en evidente estado de caquexia, un grupo de ciudadanos intentó entregar alimentos por cuenta propia, enfrentándose a la negativa de las autoridades del centro.

Pedro González, uno de los activistas que lideró la iniciativa, relató que lograron reunir carne de MIPYME, frutas y maíz con el esfuerzo de la comunidad. Sin embargo, al intentar alimentar a los animales, fueron interceptados por la administración. "Lo que vimos fue doloroso: animales desnutridos, en condiciones deplorables, con agua sucia, espacios en mal estado".

La respuesta de los directivos fue de total indiferencia: "Nos dijo que 'los animales tienen una dieta que no pasan hambre' y aquí es donde me pregunto: ¿Dónde está esa dieta cuando los animales se están muriendo de hambre?"

El director del centro incluso llamó a la policía para detener la acción de los ciudadanos. "Está prohibido alimentar a los animales pero no parece estar prohibido que pasen hambre... las reglas se usan más para impedir que para proteger", sentenció el activista en su mensaje.

A pesar de que el zoológico exigió que la comida fuera entregada como "donación" para que ellos la administraran, los ciudadanos desconfían del destino final de los recursos. "Todos sabemos lo que pasa siempre con las donaciones: no siempre llegan a quienes realmente las necesitan", concluyó González, haciendo un llamado a la población para no mirar hacia otro lado ante el silencio institucional.
