America built the Panama Canal. It took us ten years and cost thousands of American lives. It was one of the greatest engineering accomplishments in human history. Jimmy Carter, because he was an incompetent buffoon, gave the canal away and got nothing in return.

The idiot said that giving Panama this gift would somehow improve relations in Latin America. How did that work out? In the following decades Latin America thanked us by destroying our national sovereignty and shipping drugs and crime into our communities by the truck full. So they got a canal that we paid for and died for, and we got an overdose epidemic and an illegal immigration crisis.

Are we now beholden to this deal forever just because that dumbass thought it was a good idea 40 years ago? Hell no. The canal is ours. We should take it back. Trump is 1000 percent right about this.
