@CNNPolitics Calling it “accidental” assumes intent too soon and can soften accountability before investigators finish. Please center the people harmed, take casualty reports seriously, and let verified facts guide the response.
Amid all the news, today marks the first anniversary of Israel burning 19-year-old Shaban Al-Dalou alive in the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital after sustaining a 7-stitch head injury.
He was a universe of a human being, growing with wounds and surviving on scraps of hope.
NEW | Instagram has removed the verified account of Gaza slain journalist Saleh al-Jafarawi, who had 4.5 million followers.
Archived snapshots of his page on the Wayback Machine, the largest public internet archive, also appear to have been wiped or disabled, raising concerns about digital erasure of Palestinian documentation.
Al-Jafarawi, known for his frontline reporting on the Gaza genocide, had previously faced repeated censorship. He was killed yesterday by an armed group collaborating with Israel.
Observers warn that these developments may signal “a new phase in efforts to erase evidence of Israeli war crimes from the internet.”

What an unbearable loss! What a lovely human being!❤️
Saleh Al Jafarawi. Murdered today by occupation collaborating gangs in Gaza. He was so happy celebrating these last few days after two years of somehow surviving. Chosen for shahada, and we are the ones at loss. Rahimahullah.
This was Palestinian journalist Saleh Al-Jaafarawi's Last message before he was killed today.
He shared this video yesterday, a heartfelt message of thanks to everyone who supported, stood by, and protested for Gaza and the Palestinian cause.
Rewatching it broke my heart
This was Saleh, the dreamer, the one most of us never had the honor of seeing.
He had dreams like everyone else in Gaza. He was a ranked player in table tennis. He loved to sing and made songs before and during the genocide. He memorized all 600 pages of the Quran and loved Islam and he loved God. He was a Youtuber who started his journey on Youtube back in 2020 where he vlogged his life, added his songs, and showed the beauty of Gaza.
Saleh Aljafarawi, for 27 years of his life, lived under a brutal occupation whose only mission was to kill more Palestinians and steal more Palestinian land.
For two years, he starved with his people as he reported on limbless and bloody dead children, night and day. He ran towards airstrikes. He ran towards blood.
Saleh’s name in Arabic means “virtuous” and “righteous.” What a virtuous and righteous man this world has lost. He woke up millions of people to the ugliness of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, and the greed and evil that runs our world.
He died telling the truth. Western journalists live to tell lies.
Palestine is bigger than just Palestine. Palestine is for every person who believes in freedom.
Saleh’s death will not be in vain. Glory be to the martyrs. Free Palestine. Free us all.

Journalist Saleh Al-Jafarawi was kidnapped by Israeli backed gangs in Gaza City they fired 7 bullets and killed him while his only weapon was his camera.
He was smeared and targeted for two years during the genocide.
May his memory be blessed.
🚨Dr. Mohammed Abu Lahia revealed that journalist Saleh al-Jaafarawi was kidnapped, brutally beaten, and executed by collaborators working with the Israeli occupation.
In his message mourning his friend, Dr. Abu Lahia said that Saleh had confided in him before his death that he was being hunted by these collaborators and feared they would eventually kill him. “They betrayed you, just like you told me they would,” he wrote. “You said, ‘If I don’t die by the occupation, I’ll die at the hands of the collaborators’, and that’s exactly what happened.”

Yesterday during a lab meeting, my mentor informed me that I may no longer progress in my career due to my so-called 'infamy.' I was told that I was to blame for the challenges I've been facing in publishing my work—that my 'negative' political activism might be provoking the particularly unusual hostility of peer reviewers. Apparently, several 'respectable' figures in the scientific community have contacted him to voice their disapproval and even urged him to terminate my employment. This also highlights how the cowardly silence of my 'allies' perpetuates bigotry and exclusion.
To my 'colleagues' who feel entitled to pass judgment on my existence as a Palestinian scientist—one who cannot turn away from the human instinct to preserve life while witnessing the daily murder of my people—I regret to inform you that I will continue to exist, unapologetically, with no regard for your comfort or supremacist ideals.
Fortunately, science is not confined to institutions. It lives in my mind and heart, and I can enjoy it fully—even from the solitude of my imagination; even if I were to become homeless. Home, however, is precisely what I am fighting for. I only wish I had the privilege to contemplate nature, without the existential threat of Zionism.
From my perspective at the margins here at MIT, I have come to see academia for what it truly is: a stronghold of racism, classism, and spiritual rot masquerading as enlightenment.
Apologies in advance if I don’t respond to comments on this post—this is a deeply personal reflection, shared primarily for myself.
Palestinian-American scholar and activist Dr Omar Suleiman visited wounded Palestinians being treated in Doha, Qatar.
Qatar has evacuated 23 groups of wounded Palestinians from Gaza to Doha as part of an initiative to treat 1,500 Palestinians wounded by Israel’s ongoing war on the enclave.
We applaud @DeptofDefense official Captain Harrison Mann for resigning in opposition to President Biden's support for the genocide in Gaza. Captain Mann's letter explaining his decision is a moving message that @POTUS, members of Congress and all Americans should read right now.
Oh Allah! have mercy on my mother like she had mercy on me when I was born. Oh Allah! make my mother happy like she tried to make me happy and protect me from the evil surrounding us. Oh Allah! accept from my mother her deeds, the small ones and the big ones. Oh Allah! make my mother amongst those who are not afraid and who are not sad. And accept us into the highest place in Jannah (Paradise)

Students at @Princeton University are on Day 7 of a hunger strike in solidarity with the millions of Palestinians in Gaza suffering under the ongoing siege by the state of Israel. Their strike is in response to the administration’s refusal to dialogue about disclosure, disassociation, and divestment from Israel, alongside their demand for complete amnesty for peers facing criminal and disciplinary charges for peacefully protesting the genocide in Gaza.
They have lost weight and are actively experiencing symptoms including dizziness, painful hunger pangs, critically low blood pressure, and exhaustion, and continually face greater potential health risks including seizures and pneumonia. One hunger striker has been hospitalized.
