Makerere University Business School (MUBS) successfully hosted its Annual Staff Party and Thanksgiving, reflecting on a year of resilience, growth and measurable achievement. Keynote messages from leadership reaffirmed commitment to service excellence, staff welfare, institutional development and unity as MUBS prepares for an even stronger future.
The event celebrated major milestones recorded in 2025, including staff promotions, academic growth, infrastructure development and strategic partnerships. We also extend congratulations to all staff and teams recognized and awarded in various categories for their outstanding dedication and contribution to the institution.
MUBS appreciates the continued support of government, the University Council, management, staff, students, partners and all stakeholders whose collective efforts continue to position MUBS as a leading public institution of excellence.

MUBS hosted a delegation from @UniofNottingham today. The delegation, comprised of Prof. Neil Mansfield (Executive Dean of Research and International Reputation), Prof. Mazeda Hossain (Director, Eastern Africa Centre), and Prof. Linda Gibson (NTU–@Makerere Partnership Lead), met with the Principal,@ProfMuhwezi , and the Ag. Deputy Principal @rachelmindra . The purpose of this engagement is to further strengthen and consolidate the collaboration between NTU and MUBS in the areas of teaching, research, and community service.
Earlier today, MUBS participated in the @URAuganda Commissioner General’s Integrity Forum. Assoc. Prof. Rachel Mindra Katoorogo shared powerful insights on trust, integrity, predictability and value for taxes in strengthening compliance.

We reflected on the historical partnership and the contributions of Cuban professors at Mbarara University. We explored further collaboration in skills development and technical education, as well as deepening our partnership in boxing.
It was a great pleasure to attend the Research Week of Excellence at the @ufh1916, South Africa. I had the opportunity to engage in productive discussions with the university leadership, exploring potential areas for collaboration and future partnerships.
