@masurge7 Nigeria has no true elites. No country with forward thinking elites will be like Nigeria. All they know is politics, and not even from the right perspective.
@winexviv This is a system issue and not people. Restaurants in Nigeria don’t have the model/system. What we know is once you are done someone will come clear it. If I enter a restaurant that operates the way customers would clear their plate themselves I will do so.
@Bond_not_james Government remove subsidy, float currency and many of them say it’s the right move. Fair enough! But when the implications of those policies start to affect the economy they complain. What do they expect when the main driver of the economy (petroleum) went up? It’s simple logic.
@COST_ng@Bond_not_james Isn’t this simply demand and supply? Lagos has more than 15 million permanent residents competing for limited housing. Compare that to the city’s land mass and available homes, and you’ll see demand far exceeds supply. It’s difficult to enforce price control in such situation.
@General_Somto Most investors just lock their money in treasury bill and earn 16-18% annually then turn around and expect landlords who took different risk to drop down prices as they are the foolish ones right? When less people invest in properties the result is what we are facing now.
@COST_ng@Bond_not_james You want the citizens to fill in the place of the government? Tell the government to build houses and drop the price. If government regulate the sector investors will simply stop investing which ll lead to a bigger problem.
@Bond_not_james If government regulate rent people will stop to invest there and the little in supply will even go much higher. If government can’t provide alternative housing to accommodate the demand he can’t regulate the price. People will just talk with emotions without analysing anything.
@Bond_not_james People saying landlords shouldn’t increase rent don’t understand the reality of property ownership. Maintenance, repairs and service costs have all gone up. If expenses keep rising, why shouldn’t landlords adjust rent to protect the value of their investment? Don’t get the logic
@lotagodd@FinPlanKaluAja1 No, the government is not broke. The problem is mostly indiscriminate spending and lack of accountability. Too much wastage in governance with little result. If the government becomes less wasteful and more accountable they will have funds to subsidise living.

@akinwale_cfi@NigeriaStories At a point the Chinese people were heavily racially discriminated globally. But today Chinese people are respected and elevated all because the country China has taken her position in the world’s seat. Africans are discriminated not for the skin but the lack of development.
