A social issue important to me is climate change/pollution. I would join the People’s Climate Movement and would hope to educate others on this issue and try to raise money to help the problem that affects everyone. #Soca1017D4 #SocialChange

If they had these technologies replace human workers, many people would be out of jobs. Our economy would be totally different and they’d have to form a new system for how humans can work and gain money. #Soca1017D4 #AutomatedFuture

Having these technologies would cause humans to be less personal and social. I don’t think that all future jobs could be automated. For example, I know I wouldn’t feel comfortable with a robot doctor but they may be able to replace engineering careers.#Soca1017D4 #AutomatedFuture

This picture shows citizens voting. Voting is an important part in our government because the people can choose who represents them. Some citizens choose not to vote, for reasons such as not liking the candidates or being uninterested. #Soca1017D4 #SocialInstitutions

It is possible for society to exist without clear-cut categories of female and male. Everyone would feel more freely to look and act how they want rather then have the pressure to fit in a certain category and there would be less discrimination. #Soca1017D4 #ConstructingGender

pt 2: I agree with this new way to take the census because we see more of a variety in our population. Everyone shouldn’t be categorized as the color of their skin. #Soca1017D4 #RaceEthnicity

pt 1: I would call myself white with my background being from Denmark and Germany. I would make this selection because of where my ancestors were from. I know what race I am from what I was taught because no one was born knowing a difference. #Soca1017D4 #RaceEthnicity

pt2: Pay and rewards would be based off of a person’s performance. Some benefits of this society would be everyone would get to have a job they’re happy with and there would be more opportunities. A danger would be the intense competition. #Soca1017D4 #ClasslessSociety

pt1: I don’t believe a society without stratification could survive today. If it was possible, everyone still wouldn’t be seen as equal. Competition would still form a natural hierarchy and people would have jobs they might not be qualified for. #Soca1017D4 #ClasslessSociety

pt 2: Some penalties could be fines or being suspended/banned from online sites. I think penalizing these crimes could decrease the amount of cyber bullying. People would think more about what they’re doing and the consequences they would have to take. #Soca1017D4 #OnlineDeviance

pt1: I haven’t been a victim of cyber bullying or doxing but I believe it should be a crime depending on the offense. It should be considered criminal because the comments are very public and can possibly hurt someone’s future or personal lives. #Soca1017D4 #OnlineDeviance

I believe my choice to attend college was more than a personal choice. In my community, the “smarter” kids are expected to go to college and the ones that don’t are seen as less than. The truth is, a trade or doing other work is just as important. #Soca1017D4 #SocRealWorld
