@Rebecca34155212@EducationLaw2 I think it is this generation of students that will change our world. They found their voices early and they are still doing it.
@EducationLaw2 I know most handbooks address this in the student code of conduct. Students are guaranteed the right to protest, but it can not disrupt the learning environment in any way. This year at my school we had students wear shirts protesting the death of another student.@EducationLaw2
@DerisoHope@EducationLaw2 I know that this happens, but I can't fault the ones that do their jobs just because a few don't do right. Again, when done correctly, I think it can be great for the kids. Several programs are completely online, taught by certified staff. Those are options too. @EducationLaw2
@EducationLaw2 I have a friend that home schools and her kids are doing WAY more than peers that are their ages. Again, she follows and adds to her approved curriculum.
@EducationLaw2 I think if a parent follows the approved curriculum and ensures that their child is learning, then yes it could be equivalent. Some parents offer a life experience that we can't do in a four walled setting. Those experiences are just as important as what we offer.@EducationLaw2
@LauraNipper3@EducationLaw2 Some parents that home-school are also certified and there are some great home curriculum to follow that offer way more than we can in a walled setting.
@educationIaw2 I do support IDEIA, but I believe that some students should be given a modified curriculum to allow them to have standards broken down into manageable parts that can be accessed by everyone and placement into resource or co-taught classrooms will help#educationlaw2
@BowenShanta@EducationLaw2 I agree. It is only with that plan in place can we expect students that have a disability to be successful. It also helps to get that plan in place early, not wait till they are in HS!
@EducationLaw2
@DavisSummerlin@CortneyPhilpot@EducationLaw2 I think that the act ensures that students are given those opportunities that they were previously denied. It makes sure that the playing field is equal, so yes they are getting their needs met, it just might be a different way of meeting them.
@CortneyPhilpot@EducationLaw2 Funding and resources has and will always be fought over. I sure wish that Education was not the first CUT every time the budget runs short.
