@SactoGeoff@mwmoedinger Parents in my district talk with dread about “No-School November” which always features like 4 random days off and the whole week of Thanksgiving off. So hard to schedule!
@dieworkwear It's really incredible. A gorgeous, cosmopolitan, affordable city with everything you could ask for, full of people who work hard but don't especially want to beat everyone else, be famous, or work for someone famous. Love it.
@clhubes Mine is the one where they share strategies to get into the cheap park district summer camps. 4-5 devices, different browsers because some load seconds faster, pre-loading carts, enlisting spouse/grandma help. AND THEY CAN AFFORD CAMP ELSEWHERE meanwhile poor parents are effed.
This is Edward. He makes delicious arepas. He and family fled Venezuela, slept in police stations and found refuge at Luther Memorial Church in Lincoln Square. The church shelters 21 migrants and says places of worship can solve Chicago's migrant crisis. 5:30pm Tonight @wttw
@clhubes Once when I was a camp counselor I asked my fellow counselor (and fellow cynic) why he looked so upset and he replied "I'm chafing under the guise of false positivity"
@joshnorthsouth@lisadubbels Mine is amazing too. They kick you out if you don’t pick things up a few times! And you can force pass people if they don’t respond for 48 hours which I do ruthlessly.
@NewsyNick Agree on dogs. Pre kids, I could do spontaneous after work things - drinks, free concert in the park, mosey to the free day at the art museum with coworkers. My friends with dogs always had to go home to let the dog out! Wait til kids; you have to go home anyhow.
@joshnorthsouth A database that solves for these kid show questions that are only tangentially related to the plot line or main characters is perhaps AI’s highest calling
