@toddrcannon A very good point! And of course those choices count, and everyone should be respected and validated for what they have chosen. But it still stands that prolifers refuse to offer any further choices immediately following conception except carrying the pregnancy through to birth.
Pro lifers will argue about the baby not having a choice in the matter of abortion, but then turn right around and take that choice from the birthing person.
@Peter_9_@rob_morr2 Sure! The way I see it, mistakes are a part of life. But that doesn’t absolve me of responsibility. If I accidentally crash into someone’s car, it still happened. I still apologize and I pay and I rectify it, then I learn from it and try not to do it again.
@Calebjc_21 Lots of people are saying “but he’s a good man”. Good people can say/do racist things. Doesn’t justify it. Doesn’t matter if he didn’t mean it. We all know no one is perfect. Leaders need to be called out, otherwise their privilege will blind them forever.
@Peter_9_@rob_morr2 His weird delivery was exactly the issue. He brushes off the perfectly valid, difficult, and painful question, and replaces it instead with another question. Questions, especially the most difficult ones, should be asked and validated, no matter how painful the answer. 2/2
@Peter_9_@rob_morr2 Lots of people don’t intend to be racist, and are. It’s not a valid justification. And while its okay to talk about how hard it was for the world to wait, that is a different question than “why didn’t the blacks get the priesthood until 1978” 1/2
