I have worked in many schools with many faiths, principles and values.
Wherever I teach, I preach the values that the school has at its core. Not my own. I am there to make the class teachers absence have as little impact as possible. (1)
@Autistic_Lauren Wearing certain types of raincoat.
I could be wearing a wool jacket, a fleece lined heavy puffa, a leather... And I'll be fine, but within 10 minutes of being outside in an anorak/kagool style raincoat, no matter how few layers I'm wearing underneath, I'm sweating buckets.
@kitty_bit_games Across the water from you all - students and colleagues split in wanting to express their feelings on this and not wanting to discuss it at all. Both totally valid.
To celebrate the release of Final Fantasy from Square Enix on PC, we're bringing you the chance to WIN this fantastic custom water-cooled PC. Custom built & inspired by Shiva - Jill Warrick's Eikon, the Warden of Ice herself!

@kitty_bit_games A little less weight, but a full 5km on the rowing machine to finish. Comp on the 21st September, so trying to keep fast, explosive and maintain stamina.
@kitty_bit_games I'm on a cut, but I no longer obsess over the calories like I did when I first lost weight. I just make things with high volume low cal options and high protein. Like Skyr and fruit for breakfast, lentil and bean stews for lunch etc.
@kitty_bit_games Slowly building back up, adding more cardio because I need to make sure I'm comfy in my fighting category for the final competitions of the year. Happy that I start my new job soon and have a puppy to cuddle at night.
@cinnotomon When I had chicken pox as a kid, I licked my upper lip so much that my saliva wore my skin away and now I have a white scar above my Cupid's bow.
I also have a hole in my tongue from gardening.
Nothing better than annoying your neighbours by blasting noise desensitising videos for your puppy.
Slowly increasing volumes on doorbells, knocking, storms, fireworks, barking and machinery til it's as close as we can get to the real thing.
@MINRATHOU My Lavellan didn't believe in it at all, but if the moniker was used by others to make themselves feel better, she would let them use it. In such a tempestuous time, just keeping the peace can be as important as setting things straight.
@MissP0609 I don't think we ever do. I think we just learn to accept their disappointment and move on.
That might be a neurodivergent thing though - most of the ways I disappoint my mum is by still not being able to read a room or not using "normal" social mannerisms.
When I vote today I will remember Grenfell.
I will remember Brianna.
I will remember the vitriol toward refugees and the LGBTQ+.
I will remember the comments of Sunak, Starmer, Forbes, Ross et al.
And even if the outcome isn't great, my conscience will be clear.
Forgot to post due to some mad life admin (got a puppy - he is chaos incarnate), but I accepted a bank role as a music lecturer! It may be more supply, but it's a step in a better direction for my mental health!
I explained to a colleague why I identify as non-binary today. I didn't have to, but it felt good being able to put it into words and have someone tell me it made sense.
@kalaelizabeth It's the route I thought it would take. I'm happy about it, but I just hope that this ties everything together nicely. I can't stand the idea of waiting another decade for another chapter of the story.
