In a move that I didn't anticipate, I have been inspired by recent video clips shared from @jdunrrp and @SadlyItsBradley and finally purchased a refurbished Apple Vision Pro M2 model. Should arrive so I can jump into the blended worlds @KRVR_AVP has enabled before I visit AWE.
@SkarredGhost I like this free food idea. I am in the Bay Area and will also be at AWE for the first couple of days. Hopefully will bump into you somewhere along the way. Always great to see you at these events.
They may not be the best in class, but the @DPVR_Global G1 are an interesting entry level pair of AI powered smart glasses that can help you get your first look at the potential at a pretty good price point. Current state with coupon, $49.99 at Amazon! https://t.co/jq6vLr8JoT
@bradneuberg@jdunrrp@SadlyItsBradley@KRVR_AVP For PCVR it was Galaxy XR but recent Android XR updates have made it unreliable for me. I use a Quest 3S primarily for Meta content and now for PC as well at least until the Apple Vision Pro arrives early next week.
@jdunrrp Haha. My channel is at like -$25000 currently based on my VR/AR spending habits vs my not doing any content for profit. I love this hobby and support the great work from throughout the community as much as I can. Thanks for showing me paths I haven't yet explored.
I agree with Artur that Snap (or Specs Inc as the subsidiary is now called) with Snap OS and PICO's Swan with PICO OS6 are going to be bringing higher end but impressive new tech to the market this year and I'm excited to see both at AWE!
This year there will be two companies which will take leadership in AR & XR (passthrough standalone VR glasses).
AR - Snap spectacles (~2500$)
β’ strong OS, good spatial anchoring, full stereoscopic view.
Pico - Project Swan (~2500$)
β’ detachable compute unit, 4k, light
Both will show their devices at AWE.
In China, @XREAL_Global have launched a sub-brand, x by XREAL, or xbx, which launched their first display glasses today. The XBX A01 have Sony micro-OLED, birdbath optics, 50 degree FOV, 120fps, AI SDR to HDR conversion supporting HDR10 and AI image stabilization for ~$265.
@Rydeen@RtoVR Like Road to VR, I reported based on what was on https://t.co/8DCCQVhxRw at the time the product pages were revealed. I hadn't seen or been linked the support site. The glasses specifications definitely make a lot more sense with SeeYa who also make the displays in RayNeo.
