if you’re an author against using trigger warnings because it “spoils the book” it probably just means you think the shock value of triggering themes equals good writing/plot and you should probably work on that I think
you can’t ask authors to package up ideas into strict (and marketable) story structures, categories, and genres, and then say we’re not doing labour. you can’t say ‘hey remember: writing is a business’ and then tell us we’re all doing this exclusively for love of the craft.
