@PovilasKorop There are new opportunities to step in to rescue the MASSIVE onslaught of busted nextjs/node slop being generated; and convincing the owner to adopt a more mature platform.
I embraced JS the language more than 2 decades ago but js fullstack still breaks fast w/out a babysitter.

@yawaramin@artillain Just now read @htmx_org's vendoring essay.
Circa '05 I'd init a SVN repo & b4 any code landed in trunk, I'd make a vendor branch to ingest e.g. Drupal core; trunk was seeded from that branch. Kind of a vendor first dep-mgr. This was before composer, tho we did have site recipes.
@yawaramin@artillain Fair point, if you mean what I think you mean. I first made use of upstream 'vendor branches' in svn around twenty years ago.
And that'd be a decent poor man's buffer against "supply chain" attacks/exploits.
@hunvreus@jpschroeder You don't need agents to use/implement htmx. Geez are our software choices suddenly constrained only to obnoxiously complex tooling that beckons AI to handle it all? Fuck no.
I'd pay for "Destructive AI", tasked solely w/ wiping react & nextjs diapers off the internet for good.
@thenowhereway@factualmann They can have it. No one in the history of the internet has hosted more slop than vercel. Every Nextjs project I've been asked to review is puke-worthy.
Imagine positioning a company to host & steward all this garbage forever. Someday, somebody's gonna have to flush the toilet.
I can now probably say this:
Two months ago, inside Anthropic someone suggested building a token leaderboard.
A heated internal debate followed and the decision was made to *never* ever do it⦠because several people inside Anthropic simply thought ahead of the consequences
@htmx_org@artillain Modern hybrid. I especially like that R. I think it'd be equally good without the drop shadow.
But the L and the I might need to become a clutch and accelerator!
