I spent some time loving my body as it is and felt bloated after some less-than-healthy (but not unusual) food the next day. Coincidence? I think not. Apparently it doesn’t want to eat those things
I have a Twitter list called ‘Nourishing’. It’s where I spend most of my time. Over its existence, it’s shifted from mostly things that that hit me hard emotionally to things that I find beautiful or joyful
@djmicrobeads@heynibras No worries. It’s a frustrating place to be! A good physio will tell you next step or steps (could be rehab/scans/another appt etc.) and why based on what they think is happening (even if it’s not a traditional ‘diagnosis’). Good luck!
Feeling restless because there isn’t enough of what I want to see on here right now, and frustrated that the people I like hearing from aren’t tweeting enough…! 😅
What exactly is it that I want to see right now? I’m not sure I even know
Me after a couple of days inside: anxious, panicky, feel like a failure, can’t see a way forward in things I was optimistic for, self-protect mode
Me after going outside: body relaxes, grateful for the sound of the birds, things are as they should be
@AirKistler@artofaccomp@FU_joehudson For some more context: I’ve picked up some of this pattern when interacting with these people too, and have noticed when it happens it feels like questions from them are an accusation - ‘if there wasn’t a problem they wouldn’t be asking’
@AirKistler@artofaccomp@FU_joehudson I have some key people in my life who get defensive when asked a question. It’s more obvious when I’m not in wonder or partial to their answer, but also when I’m coming from VIEW.
What could be another approach to engaging with these people?
@emily_for_now First couple of chapters of the book Burnout - stressful stimulus vs stress cycle
Art of accomplishment podcasts. Maybe start with the ones on depression and burnout?
Seeing a psychologist (you might be already?)
Journalling - letting it out on paper
@emily_for_now This was most of my 2024. I used a lot of the same words to describe it, too.
People around here put a lot of emphasis on agency so if you don’t think you have it, it can feel like you’re less than.
Some helpful things are in the reply (only if you want them)
Smart bulb or lamp
Setting it so it’s on when your alarm goes off makes early morning wakes ups in winter so much easier, warm dim light at night is gentler on the eyes, can turn on automatically when you come home - amazing! Add switch for beside your bed to avoid using phone
Magsafe car phone charger
Recent upgrade when I finally got a new phone. Attach and remove one handed. Something about the clunk when it attaches is so satisfying. No need to fluff around with plugging in.
Imagine a physio treatment/exercise session where there was a 15 min view convo, 15 min body scan/meditation/some sort of mindful movement, 30-60mins regular lifting/rehab, then some sort of wind down to finish. You’d walk out of there feeling a million bucks
