This is Dottie. She’s the biggest hen I have. She likes letting her hen-mate know who’s boss, and she’s very food motivated. Looking at how chickens groom and molt feathers, cats shed fur, and how the dog…carpets the floor with his; one looks at the theme of shedding. It can be painful or pleasant. I was remembering how @HowieTheCrab shed her shell annually, a process that was painful, nerve wracking, yet poetic. In order to grow, one must face the uncomfortable. Shedding the entire exterior layer to fit into a larger version of ourselves can take days for a crab or months for others.
I’m enrolled and starting the #B4C @Breathe4Change_ yoga teacher/#sel facilitator training this afternoon and there’s a beautiful infographic on comfort zone-growth zone and panic zone. You can’t learn or grow when you’re comfortable or in a panic. It requires balance.
Hope you all find ways to grow in meaningful ways this month.
Dottie thinks you can do it!
Cat-mates. Billie Jean is having a time out in her cat cave after growling at Ruthie the (tuxedo) new cat.
I too feel like Billie Jean—hiding in an anxiety bed seems preferable these days than facing reality in this world with current events, personal obligations etc.
I want to be more like Ruthie: calm, indifferent, non reactive when I’m hissed and growled at. #goals

Several students stand up and are “chilling.” Two try to sit in two of the teacher chairs.
“Please go sit in the student desks”
One groans about how he prefers the teacher desk... https://t.co/JucQjwPKPv
